Back in the 90s, Lyn would call some games on the radio with Jim Hawthorne in the booth. Some of those regional games were legendary.

When LSU has away games, listen to some of the hopelessly bland, emotionless homers call the games. Rollins/McDonald are head and shoulders above those guys. That is, unless you prefer listening to grumpy old men mumbling into the microphone about inane baseball stories from 40 years ago.

I like him. He’s a super nice guy in person.

It’s true though. That was just an incredibly stupid thing to say. There is zero correlation between the two.
The Lyn/Ben combo is one of my favorite parts of baseball season and even though I enjoyed 19, I wanted O gone the minute he was hired.

He's corny as frick and his voice is a little grating but I love the guy.
His call in the 2007 SEC championship was great. Byrd made a great catch and he said, "CAUGHT BY DEMETRIUS BYRD!!! He just used that entire wingspan to reach out and snare it with those talons!" Again, corny as hell but it's hard not to smile.

I've known Lyn for 30+ years. He's the same in person as he is in air. Truly nice guy who loves LSU. I'm like others above - I just don't get the hate for him.
