Saban also failed as a player personnel guy in the NFL. It involves more than just straight up player evaluation

Fickell. I'm a huge Aranda guy but we need someone with a clean slate. As soon as we lose a game people would be on this 3rd and Aranda BS again.

Let's see, a proven winner at head coach, that can take a lower tier conference program to victories over Power 5 powerhouses and major bowl games, or a good defensive coordinator. Gee, I can't decide.
