To play four straight games at catcher and then come out and mash two bombs to seal the deal was some big time stuff. Vamos Papi!

Dude has been great this year. Done what he was suppose to do. Play solid catcher and hit 10+ bombs.

Two bombs and a single that drove in an insurance run. He has been really good. I don’t know the locker room dynamics, but this guy should be one of the leaders of this team. He is a senior, and came to LSU to win a championship. His stats are not as gaudy as they were at Indiana State, but he has quietly gone about his business. I salute Luis Hernandez and the OP for starting this thread.

he's really good at making teams pay for just pitching him inside. he gets those hands in tight to his body and turns hard and fast on the ball.

I was always pitched inside because I was trying to pull the ball. once I got up against a guy that could locate his pitches inside for strikes I was done for. that's why it impresses me so much. pulling the ball and hitting it 380 feet on an inside pitch is probably the hardest thing to do for a hitter .
good college hitters fail at it and he can do it regularly

I think it would be hard for him to be a vocal leader. he struggles with his English pretty bad

He had two big moments in the last game that everyone will remember, but I was honestly more impressed with his performance vs DBU. Putting down sac bunt, executing the run down play on the base path.

He has a very high understanding of the game and is technically sound

This makes absolutely zero sense to me . None of it.

Wouldn’t it make more sense for someone to pitch you outside if you were trying to pull everything?

I think it’s obvious he is one of the leaders. He brings a great competitive energy that rubs off on the players.

We've had better catchers over the years, but this guy could play on my team anytime. Thank you for being an LSU Tiger!
