Jada W. is a different PG from Jada R. Jada W. sees the court better than Jada R. and has a special passing talent to get the ball to the right person in the right place at the right time- Kim Mulkey’s type of PG. Did you see how well LSU moved the ball around against the zone? The best I’ve seen LSU do in years regardless of the competition. Very unselfish. The team as a whole functions better with better flow and better team chemistry with Jada W. at PG. That will show even more as the season progresses.

If you’re looking specifically at scoring, that was the strength of Richard, a pure shooter with a score-first mentality. She likes to bring the ball up and shoot. My theory is that in addition to money, the lure of being able to shoot when she wants and not having to defer to MK or Lay played a part in her decision to leave. I just think back to the last game last year at the end when MK was wide open and Richard didn’t even look her way.

Jada Williams can penetrate and she can shoot the three as she showed in the second half tonight. But she’s not coming down the court looking to score first like Jada R. I believe that defensively the two are a wash.

I hated to lose Richard and her talent to shoot and score. But I think we’ll see that in the long run the team will function better with better team chemistry with Jada Williams. Some of her passes from the top down low were insane.

Although Anna obviously looks young and like she’s trying to figure it all out right now, she’s already better than Kate offensively. Anna makes her putbacks and bunnies, can use her left hand effectively, has great hands which don’t fumble passes like Kate, and is a far superior passer from the post.

In my opinion Kate had the edge defensively and maybe a slight edge in rebounding, but by the end of the year Anna will have at least pulled even in those areas. Anna is strong and rock solid and tough down low- she won’t be moved off of her spot. You’ll see why the coaches have been so excited by the end of the year when it matters most after Anna has adjusted to the SEC game. Both Kate and Anna hustle all out, and I love it.

The most pleasant surprise for me is Lola Lampley. She’s really gonna work out well in the post.

I think the biggest adjustment for Ana will be the speed and physicality of the conference. I expect her to have ups and downs this season but hopefully come March she is playing her best basketball.

Ana is only 17 years old & according to CKM, has never lifted weights. Both CKM & BS "love her foot work". Give her the time to absorb CKM's development program.

Good analysis: You understand, but you left out the one with most potential, LAILA REYNOLDS!!!!

I may be wrong and it’s obvious a minuscule sample size but it looks like to me Ana is further along offensively than Koval but not quite defensively.

Koval moved her feet well for her size and was a good shot blocker .

Agree. Ana has way more upside though. She will be a force as she adjusts to the speed.

This is a very good assessment of Jada V Jada.

Its interesting that people call Richard the "scorer" as Williams has averaged more per game her whole career. Richard is definitely a better shooter. It will be interesting to see who averages more per game.
Williams is a much better passer. She averages more than double what Richard does in assists.
It is pretty easy to see as well from the first two games that Williams is a much better on ball defender. I think we got better not worse. I really like Williams.

Lampley is much taller than i realized. That was a pleasant surprise. Hopefully she can play tough once we get rolling. like a taller Zakiyah in her freshman year. If she can turn into that, she will be in the rotation.

Anna is just.......young. man she looked very slow and not in shape. And for people saying she has hands. eh, she fumbled away at least two chances in the koval mold. You could see some talent in there, but when I heard them say she had never lifted weights before, I was like, yeah no shite. She may be a completely different player next year after she's had a year of actual weight lifting, nutritional supplements and legit cardio under a real team of trainers. But right now she looks like a taller Yarnevich. She was not impressive as a rebounder.

Morro, now that is one I am very interested to see play. She looks like a WNBAer when you see her under the basket. Exactly the opposite of Anna.

Reynolds is so interesting. She makes me think of a larger faster Mjracle Sheppard. She was getting wide open passes in the corner against that zone and immediately was driving so definitely not a shooter. But defensively she is already very impressive. It will be awesome to watch us have her, Williams and Fulwiley all in the game at the same time putting pressure on the ball.

Two final notes so far. I am seriously nervous about our rebounding this year. I hope that I am worrying about nothing. But nothing two games in makes me feel better about it yet.
And finally, Mikaylah looks to be in amazing shape. I've been critical of her game shape the last couple of years, and how she seemed to wear down thru the year. She looks like a rock right now. Best shape I've ever seen her. Very excited for her senior year.

There is a reason Mulkey compares Ana to Doncic, he doesn’t wow you with athleticism..

Ana will certainly have ups and downs as she adjust to the speed and physicality of the sec.

The team doesn’t need her to be dominant and at 17 no one should expect that.,

Let’s see how she develops as the season progresses and hopefully come March she’s olaying her best basketball.
