This is where the hope is your dline is so good it can cover up the deficiencies elsewhere.

There's way too many unknowns for LSU's secondary to say they're going to be good right now. You have question marks at every level behind dline.

LSU's problem is depth on defense. Once injuries start to pile that's where you'll start seeing the talent gap. We don't have enough depth in certain positions.

I hope Perkins gets legitimate playing time there.

If you are speaking to level of talent (and its preseason, so what else is there to consider), he is absolutely correct. We went into '20 and '21 with Stingley, Ricks, and McGlothern on the roster. Any of those three would be the top corner on this team by a mile.

Obviously, if you consider results of those seasons, its a different conversation. But for pure talent, this is indeed our worst secondary in twenty years.

This comes from UF staff, and probably Corey Raymond directly.

Personally more worried about the linebackers than I am with the secondary. If they come good I think we'll be ok.

They don't know goat plop.

First of all, we will have a dominant defensive line.
If we hopefully get a great pass rush, this will automatically bolster the secondary. It might not be one of LSU's best, but I think it will be better than these clowns think it will be....

It probably will be our least talented in decades, but 2020 was as bad as it gets for performance. They won't be near that bad due to competent coaching.

I agree. We did great in the portal but we were decimated. It’s gonna be a long year.

Well Corey Raymond got lazy as shite and forgot that while holding up the school over and over he should still recruit.

I’m willing to bet a lot of money that the secondary plays better this year than they did in 2020 or 2021, despite the drop off in talent

I don't think it's a bold statement. I think that's what it looks like on paper and frankly, I expect our secondary to be a weakness.

A lot of LSU fans are simply in denial.
