Look for Aranda to have Delpit, Monroe and Stevens on the field at the same time... Battle will be losing his position by the Auburn game... You cant keep those three off the field... Delpit and Stevens as the Safeties, Monroe as the nickel... somehow or another those three will be deep in the backfield together.. Delpit will jar some heads this year... The pass rush will help our young DB's this year... Wish ole boys lawyers can get him cleared at corner...

It's been a while since our D-line was great, but I think it will be this year with Lawrence, and the newcomers. White will be about the best LB in all of college, so our front 7 will be elite. Our secondary won't need to be elite and we have enough talent back there to do well too. I expect an elite D.

I still see Georgia or Bama taking the number 1 spot in the SEC

Bama lost 2/3's of their starters on defense including all of the def backfield and Da'Ron Payne. Dylan Moses, the heir apparent in the middle is coming off a season ending injury. And Bama lost their DC, DB, and DL coaches. I expect them to be good but they have a big hill to climb.

LSU should be very strong up the middle. It's the edges (other than Williams) that are the concern. Last year no one other than Key (when he played hard and was in shape) could generate a pass rush off the edge. Is there a guy or two on this year's team that can do so? Hopefully. But right now that's just potential rather than a proven commodity.

We know that the CB opposite Williams should get thrown at often (like Williams did early last season). If that guy (whoever it turns out to be) can hold his own, then LSU should be fine.

What should be the starting Defense... (But Ill trust Aranda on this deal)

NT - Ed Alexander
RDE - Lawrence
LDE - Fehoko
Rush LB - Chaisson
Mike - D White
Rover LB - Toss up Taylor/Phillips
CB Greedy
CB - Fulton/Joespy
Nickel - Monroe
FS - Delpit
SS - Stevens

4th LB (F) is Divinity...(I would actually put Taylor/Phillips at this one as well..

Look for more nickel packages to be more athletic with monroe..

on running downs the base defense with extra DL/LB..

Aranda def has many options this year...

Should take alot of pressure off the offense in reality..

I would agree except Bama and UGA have cup cakes on their schedules so not very many points are going to get scored on .

This is a great example of sliding expectations. It used to be we were disappointed if our entire team wasn't number 1 in the SEC. Now, it's really cool if our best unit is #2.

Yeah, because there's no way the #2 defense in the SEC could make the College Football Playoff.

If the defense will be number 2 then the offense will end up being number 12 probably.

I think we have the best defense in the country if Fulton gets eligible.

If not, we're #2 in the SEC behind Bama. Our defense is better than Georgia's if we stay healthy.

This is partly why LSU is having a hard time breaking this Bama jinx shite, that kind of mindset. If you keep having that type of mindset in thinking that you should be No 2 in this and that, well then expectations for this program will always be low and LSU is not that type of program anymore. You should be thinking just like that fat arse Alabama OLineman I forget his name now, anyways he said some BS about Alabama restoring order, that's how you should think of LSU, taking back the order from Alabama. It was LSU that was on top, and now that glory needs to be reclaimed. I think it was lost on 2012 in that championship game, LSU shouldn't be second in nothing, that's conceding, it's number one or bust.

Also, too much talent on defense to be No 2 to anybody, 3 starters on the DLine that have all american potential backed up by a shite load of talent and depth. The best LB'er in the country this upcoming season who is flanked by outstanding talent, and if Fulton is returned to status which I think it's crazy for him to be suspended for 2 seasons. If he's back, then you have 2 shutdown corners on the outside with a 6 deep safety set. Just great talent on defense that just needs to play up to the expectations, and everything will take care of itself.

I hope the starting secondary goes something like that, I don't wanna see Battle in there, I wish he had declared for the NFL this year. He wasn't really needed back, that's one position that is full depth wise just like the DL. I'd rather see Paris in there than him, Battle was lost out there sometimes in coverage last season. Also, the kid Harris is another gifted safety.

Yea you hit it dead on the head. After so many years of that Baffon Miles draining this program down to only 4-5 half arse linemen on both sides of the ball getting their shite pushed in by every team we played expectations are for sure down. In O’s second year we’ll have the deepest and most talented line on both sides of the ball since 2011. This will be our best team since 2011. So sit back and enjoy may next year expectations will be back up

Oh brother, more of THIS dumb shite?

LSU fans say this every year—“Oh Bama has lost a bunch—they’re going to be DOWN!”

And every year they just reload and play for or win the national championship while we barely manage to win as many irrelevant, shite bowls as we lose.

Why do people think Stephens is going to start?

I don't doubt the guy has potential. But you are talking about a guy the was moved to freaking h back supplanting a senior. I just don't see it.
