Most people don’t, which is interesting to me. FYI...the stripes on the gold pants don’t match the gold helmets.

Those 2016 Miss St uni's and the 2009 vs. Arky with the gold helmets were the absolutely coolest ones in recent memory.

The hard rules are:
SEC games - home team can choose to wear white, no approval needed from visiting team (rule implemented in 1997 after Vandy wouldn’t let us wear white at home in ‘95)
All other games - home team can wear white if visiting team approves. Oregon State refused in 2004. I assume that since then, we probably try to get this agreement in the contract when the games are scheduled. But maybe not.
Last time Vandy didn’t let us wear our traditional white uni’s, we wore gold and beat them 35-0. I think the gold jerseys were hideous personally, but I wouldn’t mind wearing them and winning 60-0 just to make a point.
ETA: Since LSU has already announced they’re wearing purple, I’d like to see the gold/purple/gold combo. Feels more traditional for an SEC matchup. But the white helmets do look slick..

That 1995 gold helmet, white jersey, purple pants combo should never be considered again. Awful.

I prefer LSU wear the uniform that they've won 100% of their national championships in as well as about 75% of their SEC championships. That G/P/G combo shouldn't ever see anything beyond the spring game.

Now there's one more alternate uniform combo that needs to be considered, and I discussed this in a topic on March 3rd of this year, "Throwback Jerseys From 1959":
--a SOLID GOLD uniform. This was worn in back-to-back road victories vs Kentucky and Florida (both 9-0 LSU wins). I saw this in my brother's 1960 LSU Gumbo, and though the pictures are black and white, I presume the jerseys are gold as they match the shade of the helmets and pants.

I am so alone on this but I really do love the love the old gold helmet purple jerseys gold pants. I wish they would start wearing them more.

correct, we did wear all gold uniforms once upon a time during the late 50s and early 60s.
Bill Cannon's Hesiman portrait is of him wearing said gold jersey (only color photo I have ever been able to find of them)
