If we dont win the series against Tenner and Arkie or maybe even lose just one of those, we wouldn't be in top 8....the bigger surprise to me is Auburn being in top 8. I guess the same could be said about Auburn sweeping us. If we win that series at Auburn, Auburn doesn't make the top 8 either.

The criteria for these tournaments usually seems to be a case by case basis rather than “this year RPI was 80% of the criteria for each and every choice” kind of thing.

Do NOT try to explain this to Auburn fans

Its always about money. Start following attendence records of the top teams in a given year. There are exceptions here and there but for the most part its usually the top 8 attendance school of that year that get the regional/Super. Just my opionion havent done the research but i could almost guarantee it.

RPI before the tournaments probably weighed a little more than after the tournament. LSU was 7 KPI and 8 RPI.

I kind of feel like weighing in the back of the minds of the committee members is, "we have to find a way to get LSU to Omaha. They bring a shite ton of people, spend a lot of money and it's good for TV viewership."

We dropped 6 spots after that NWST loss. It would've been worse if Vandy didn't lose to a 23-32 Middle Tenn State that same night.

I think the committee is looking less at RPI, and more at the larger contributors to RPI. I think the took quad 1 record into account more so than the RPI number.

Top8
UGA RPI 2- Q1 wins- 11
LSU RPI- 11 Q1 wins- 13

Host
CC RPI- 8 Q1 wins -5
OM RPI- 12 Q1 wins- 19
Tenn RPI- 10 Q1 wins- 14
UCLA RPI- 15 Q1 wins- 3

#2 Seed
Bama RPI- 13 Q1 wins- 15

The data says they leaned very heavily on RPI
