We just had 17 hits and scored 10 runs last night without a HR or 3B. Ask any baseball coach and they’d take that over. 10 runs on 11 hits and having to rely on the long ball to get those runs
This is the rant where retards run rampant. You think the OP understands this?

Idk what you are looking at but Milam is the only “small” guy I see on this LSU team. And even he has some good power. Yea I will say Curiel needs to add a little muscle but he’s such a great hitter already. Braswell is a twig too but other than that go stand beside most of those dudes on this team and you’ll see that they aren’t so small.
I'm looking at them on the field in person. Many of them physically look like high schoolers to me. That's not some kind of knock. May be a frame issue adding to that perception, as well, as you've mentioned. As a group, they just look like a really small squad.

Short ball benefits us hugely!

Are they tied for last in wins?

You must be referring to curiel and milam.
Those two are good hitters, not too worried

Really!! OMG — does that mean we are not smoking the rock consistently?

Jones and Brown hit balls that would have been HRs in most parks yesterday. Given the conditions, cooler temps, the balls died on the track. If that is Alex Box, you can add two more home runs to their list for sure.

Not only having played in 2 big parks, but also the weather in Alex Box has not been conducive to HRs so far this year

This plays better in Omaha anyway. I’ll take more hits and less emphasis on the deep ball.
But a HR won us a game in Omaha… you need balance

Depends on the quality of the opposing pitching staff as well.

We just don’t have power hitters on this team.. I don’t get why everyone is just trying to find a reason why we aren’t hitting HR’s.
This. Jay Johnson has basically said this himself. It’s part of the reason we’ve been doing a bunch of 1st and 3rd BS, stealing, bunting, etc

It was almost 80 degrees in Frisco yesterday

This team can hit HRs.
They seem focused on other things right now. It will come.

I love when people post threads like this and never return to reply to anything

Are you suggesting Jay knows what he’s doing?

Tennessee plays in an overgrown softball park. No wonder they hit so many HRs

LSU is 15th in the nation for runs per game. Home runs are fun to watch. They are averaging a little over nine runs per game and I don’t care how they get them

I just went by with Ben said when it happened. He said the winds changed and he didn’t know if it was cooler or not.
By the way, it would’ve been out of Tennessee for damn sure. Just as a a point of reference. There was several last weekend that were the same way at Alex box.
This is why you can’t go by One stat. They had 17 hits and scored 11 runs. Not too bad for a “week“ bunch of kids.

Good!!! I would rather 17 hits than random home runs
