Gotta hold on to those tickets in case we get good after Orgeron and Alleva are fired.

As opposed to putting out a press release saying they’re pissed off?

I think it is more that they get off on taking fools for a ride.

The large amount of people on here with catastrophe syndrome and others who are the WORLD'S best pessimistic whiners eat up any bad news that is related to LSU football.

People see a chance to play the idiots and laugh their arse off watching them buy into their made up stuff.

Hell, I enjoy it also, most of the time.

Looks like my logical post that no one responded to in the Alleva getting canned thread is holding up.

Not sure how this is possible though. Advocate article is not fitting Tiger rant narrative.

This article points out why it is smart to NOT believe most of the stuff you read on the Rant. I have read that there has not been a waiting list for years - the article says there is one. I have read the renewal rate was horrible. But 95% before opening up to the waiting list is not that bad.

I will call this article BS. Without getting into "source" debates, I am hearing very different. At the very least, the information being provided is misleading.

I think JA needs to be fired yesterday, but put me in the boat of being skeptical he's out by May this year. I doubt he would of been at the booster meeting in Houston if he was on his way out this month unless he's stepping down amicably.

Yeah sure but what is the point of misleading information like this?

The average family that has good lower bowl tickets and has through the good times and bad, aren’t dumping them because of one or two seasons of Orgeron.

Yep, our family has had lower bowl tickets since the early 50s. If we didn't let them go in the early 90s, we sure as hell aren't going to after a 9-4 season. Fortunately for the viability of our athletic department, the majority of our fans aren't as childish as many of the posters on this website, most of whom probably don't give dime to TAF and never have but also complain how TAF should spend money

It also fails to point out that donations are down 16% from 2017.

do you have a verified article that does point this out or are you just repeating something you've read on tigerdroppings?

I'm not surprised though, I'm starting to believe Tiger Ree is paid to attempt to pump sunshine up the asses of the fans on this board. It's pretty obvious given the over the top optimism. Even those who love coach O are not that positive about the state of the program.

Tiger Ree is in sales that are directly affected by the status and success of the program. Its literally his job to sunshine pump.

plenty are for sale, meaning people cant get rid of them. And that number is just from taf controlled seating, not the entire season tickets up for grabs.

Did you even read the article?

No article. Something like that wouldn't be published anyway. Just word of mouth through other members of TAF I've spoken with.

After Tenth Tiger made his appearance the other day I made some phone calls to see if that's what some of the guys I know had heard. They confirmed.

Overall donations to the university went up though. Not sure by how much.

ETA: Looks like most members did what I did. Take the "extra" they would usually donate to TAF and donated it to the university's general fund.

So word of mouth they were able to provide a random figure like 16%?

confirmed what? that Alleva is getting fired?

I have just seen this song and dance too many times where everyone has sources in TAF and very rarely do those sources' stories ever come to fruition. I wouldn't doubt that donations to TAF may be down, but I just am a little skeptical of 16%, especially if donations to the University are up. Generally donations to the University kind of flow with how good the football team is.

do the ticket renewal owners not understand that Orgeron is still the head coach?

Do you not understand LSU plays Ole Miss, Miss St., UGA, and Alabama at home this season? Much more interesting than what they've been trotting out before. One of the best home schedules in a long time.

Seeing that 3 of those teams will be ranked higher than LSU to start the season, what's not to like if you like sports?

Well, in the conversations I had, I asked if 16% was the number they heard. The general response was "Yea, somewhere around that."

No one I talked to could confirm Alleva was getting fired. I don't know anyone that high up that would be privy to that information.

I get it, trust me. I've never claimed to have first hand knowledge of what goes down at LSU. I just know guys who know other guys. It's all a transfer of information.

Generally speaking, yes donations tend follow similar paths. But, with so many members a fed up with the direction of things (I've yet to speak with another TAF member who is pleased with the current regime), it only natural that they would do something to send a message. Particularly those with DEEP pockets. But at the same time, you don't want "hurt" the University as TAF does contribute a pretty decent chunk to the University itself. So how do send a message? You skip TAF and go straight to the university.

I totally get that logical reasoning, but I also know people don't always think logically like that, even people with deep pockets If they want to send a message, they are generally a little less passive aggressive than that. Who knows honestly. I don't ever pay attention to it, but doesn't TAF always release an annual givings summary every year? So ultimately we should know if, in fact, donations are down that much, right?

I want to say it's at the end of every fiscal year. I think it comes with the tax paper work. I'm not really sure to be honest. I just forward all that shite to my CPA
