LSU is not immune to the attendance decline sweeping college football, but school officials and those from its fundraising arm are pleased with season ticket renewals.

Renewals across the board — including Tiger Athletic Foundation-controlled premium seating and the school-regulated Tradition Fund seats — are at about 95 percent, or roughly 1 percent down from last season’s renewal rate, officials told The Advocate.

The renewal rate is expected to increase as officials open new purchases to a waiting list of fans, said LSU senior associate athletic director Robert Munson and Rick Perry, president and chief operating officer of TAF.

This article points out why it is smart to NOT believe most of the stuff you read on the Rant. I have read that there has not been a waiting list for years - the article says there is one. I have read the renewal rate was horrible. But 95% before opening up to the waiting list is not that bad.

do the ticket renewal owners not understand that Orgeron is still the head coach?

How are new purchases renewals?

People are gonna buy tickets. It’s LSU this is a lifelong commitment, for most people.

The last thing this department wants to do is have to buy out everyones contract, especially after the 16% decrease in season ticket renewals and booster donations. It was "unprecedented".

I don't know what or who to believe anymore. Now I'm worried they're going to give Alleva a lifetime contract or something.

People on this site overestimate:

A) how much they know
B) how many people share their views
C) how much the average person cares what their opinion is

I agree On all three

I also Think this article means nothing beyond people aren’t willing to give up the family tickets so fast.

The average family that has good lower bowl tickets and has through the good times and bad, aren’t dumping them because of one or two seasons of Orgeron. If they made it through Hallman and Dinardo, they can make it through O at 9-4.

Clearly a paid article trying to put a positive spin on the state of LSU football. Sure ticket renewals remained about the same, there is no more waiting list, a simple phone call can tell you that. It also fails to point out that donations are down 16% from 2017.

I'm not surprised though, I'm starting to believe Tiger Ree is paid to attempt to pump sunshine up the asses of the fans on this board. It's pretty obvious given the over the top optimism. Even those who love coach O are not that positive about the state of the program.

Yeah, I saw some comments from Alleva at the Houston event yesterday.

The thing that stood out to me was when he talked about the new field for Tiger Stadium next year, HE said:

"It's going to cost ME $2 million dollars".

If he was being canned and knew it he probably wouldn't have been at the event and then wouldn't have said what he did in that way.

Another example of why you can't believe what you read here.
