Thats Louisiana dude. In 1991 then Governor Buddy Roemer named State Senator Lawson Swearingen as President of NLU/ULM. He served as President from 1991 to 2001.

You need an academic. Anyone else does not work. That said, many academics are fools. Many more academic administrators are worse. Still, the President needs to understand academia for this to work.

This is a really unimpressive list.
Why and what should it look like?

He doesn’t know. UGA’s president for example went to Georgia State for his undergraduate then UGA for his JD.

Mark it down

Best one on the list. Provost at a SAC's academic peer school and SEC and R1 University.

On another front, kudos to JBE and his BOS for releasing the names, unlike the last Search under Jindal and his BOS that gave us F F KING Alexander.

Terrible list

Honestly how many names on this terrible list were you familiar with before you read it?

Rita Cheng, Ph.D. Outgoing President of Northern Arizona University

Stopped reading the list right here.

I went to grad school at NAU while Rita was president.

I'm absolutely dumbfounded that she is on this list. She "resigned" from her position at NAU (many believe it was either a leave or get fired type of deal). She was a terrible president at NAU. None of the faculty or student body liked her. She and her husband were involved in some shady fundraising stuff and they used university money to go on vacations.

I don't want to get into it to much, but NAU had a lot of problems that she contributed to. I love NAU and Flagstaff. My department was great and I feel that I got a good education there, but there were many problems that the university was facing that she either directly caused or did little to nothing to fix.

Edit: Very happy to see she isn't on the list of the final 8

Wife says he's a great choice and meets the diversity hire because he's gay

If you go to his facebook page the pictures are mostly of flowers, his dogs wearing bandanas, or woke political pictures.

Rita Cheng is crazy. Total leftist. Look at what she did at Northern Arizona that is extremely liberal. Hopefully this is nomination is just a bone thrown to the woke crowd. I would be done with LSU is they put her in as President.

He needs to squeeze a few more dogs and an American flag in there and he can’t lose.

Jay Dardenne gets the job. The Advocate/Times Pic writes carefully choreographed opinion pieces prior to an event happening. They wrote a piece about how Dardenne should get the job. Just like Mitch used their opinion piece for the statues and DeSTroya did for street names, Dardenne will get it.

I don't like how Dardenne put JBE in the gov spot but he does love LSU and wants nothing but to see it prosper. That can't be a bad thing.
