Went to all three Regional games this weekend and this team is fun to watch. Gave up two runs in three games with two shutouts. All three starting pitchers pitched complete games. They hit the ball hard 1-9 and played lights out on defense. That Virginia Tech team had 48 wins and was beaten 15-2 in two games. Let's Geaux!

Their pitching is their strength. If Jayden continues to throw strikes, they may be tough to beat.

They were amazing-- several fly outs I didn't think could be done. And the pitching was top level for all three games.

Geaux Tigers-- beat Bama!

I watched today’s game and it appeared they somehow muted his loud and obnoxious voice a bit. I hardly heard him but did see him back there.

I think this team has been very fun to watch grow together the last month or so. It is a shame more people didn't show up for the regional. 1300 today is kinda low for a championship game. But to their credit, the ones who did show up were very loud.

The fan base has eroded a little. I don't get the Beth hate. Yeah, no WCWS in a while, but she wins a lot, hosts regionals almost every year, runs a clean program, has players that are very likeable, and seems like a nice person. Yet there are plenty of hard-core haters who post here and in the Facebook comments on the Softball page who almost seem to make it personal.

My thought is that there are a LOT of people out there who don't give a shite when they win, but can't wait to get to the keyboard and complain when they lose, which is a horseshite mentality.

If you don't get the "Beth Hate" you're living in P&G fantasy land.

This is LSU. Making the WCWS is ALL THAT MATTERS!

She wins a lot against OOC teams and then gets popped in the SEC.

Her program is stale and is the exact definition of Mediocrity personified. (That's why I call her Softball Nikki)

So she struck "Lightening in a Bottle" this season and they are playing better.

OK, so beat Alabama in Tuscaloosa 2x to do what you're supposed to do every season. (Make the WCWS)

You are a fricking dolt. That is the only response needed to your Alzheimer's-like babble.

You are definitely one of these people.

Make no mistake I want any LSU program to win. The problem here is Beth had a good amount of success when she first got here but that doesn’t give you the freedom of being questioned or assessment of your current success. If she makes the WCWS, we can evaluate on the success of this year.
But, she has still never won anything.
I am very angry a Jay Johnson for this year but am in no way calling for him to be replaced. He has won 2 national titles which affords the luxury of continuing to be the BB coach and if he wins one every other/3 years, i and most reasonable fans will be ok with that. Don’t make the CWS for 8 years, get bounced from your regional by an inferior in state program, the discussion will be different.
Congrats to the girls and I hope they beat Bama and even though I feel Beth has run her course, I will never wish us to lose. And just because people question the path that our teams are on does not mean that they’re loyalty to the P&G should be questioned.

I do not hate her, but the program has stagnated, that is the reason for the fan base erosion. The program has been stuck in the rut of high floor, low ceiling. LSU has been an above average program but even that gets boring if you do not occasionally break through. You have to break through every once in a while to break the monotony and disinterest. If the program is what it is now, but pucnched a ticket to the WCWS every 3-5 years, I think you would see a bit more interest in the program

I hope she brings them there this year, it would be much more in the interest of the LSU athletic dept if she were able to raise that ceiling just a little and no firings are needed

It is because they lose just enough to slowly disinterest the fanbase but they never quite win enough to gain interest back. To the average non- diehard fan, they do not win when it matters most to gaining support, they lose when it matters most to gaining support, so naturally the complaining will be about the losing because they do not have the high tier winning to get excited about. In the highest stakes games, LSU is continually falling on the losing end. No big time sports program/coach at LSU would be imune to criticism here. When football stagnates, basketball, baseball ...fans get restless. When Les Miles stagnated, he got canned, when Mainieri stagnated, he got canned

Beth is a good coach but she has not been good enough at this point to engage a broader portion of the fanbase, she has to earn that now

It’s kind of hard to watch when that dude is in the background doing silly shite. It’s worse when 67 is up and he is doing the 6-7 hand thing the kids were doing.

What's the chances of pulling off 2 of 3 at Bama? I know we have been playing really good at times, especially as of late. I just know nothing about Bama besides the 1 seed. I don't believe we have played them this year.

It sucks, but I'm gonna have to try and get excited about the softball team now that baseball hasn't panned out. Super regional is going to be really difficult though. Bama is good.

Not real good to be honest. I think we’ll get swept and lose both games by more than 5 runs.

I have nothing against Beth as a person. She seems like a nice lady and is a good ambassador for the university. That said, I think she has peaked and her best days are behind her. If she couldn't win a title (not even an SEC title) with a team loaded with talent (Hoover, Walljasper, Simmons, Bell, Jaquish, Andrews, etc.), then she never will. I don't see us rolling into Tuscaloosa and beating Bama twice. They have dominated us in softball in recent years, and I don't think that stops this season.
