All of these games are lower scoring 1 run games. Bigger ballpark can't rely on the long ball. Tough pitchers going against you every inning. Moving runners, not chasing, manufacturing runs... Not the strong suit of this club.

It doesn’t help when the majority of your hitters are completely overmatched and look absolutely clueless at the plate.

We were built for this. But we had injuries early in the season.

It’s the nature of the beast. Travel ball has burnt a lot of arms. You’re just crossing your fingers that it burns someone else this year.

It was 3-2, are you saying Wake also isn’t built for this style of baseball?

the umpire neutered the bats (on both sides) so it became a pitchers duel with field errors and one big play (the play at home) being the difference

Most games have been around the 6-5 score and before today the pace of HR was higher than avg.
Don't act like its similar to Fri night in the SEC when teams are scoring 1 or 2 runs against the other teams 1st round ace

We haven’t had a single long term injury absence from any of our position players, aside from Brady Neal, who was replaced by a much better player. That is remarkable luck. Pitching sure, but we didn’t lose because of pitching last night.

I mean the team that beat us drew 3 walks and the. had a hard hit ground ball and then grounded into a double play.

then scored on a double and a single.

small ball didn’t beat us.

Did Wake play small ball well last night? They made more errors than LSU, struck out more times, hit the same percentage with runners in scoring position, etc. Their leadoff hitter popped out when trying to bunt late in the game, their all-world 3 hole hitter struck out with multiple guys on base.

We just lost a close game against another great team because we got a few bad breaks and missed one too many opportunities. It is what it is. I don't think we need to make this a big philosophical discussion.

Trackman shows how truly bad the balls/strike calls were. If the ump called a proper strikezone, our hitters wouldn't have been "clueless" and would have scored a lot more runs. And no it wasn't nearly as bad for Wake.

LSU was built fine for this. LSU was not able to overcome losing arguably 3 of their top 6 pitchers.

It's no coincidence that teams with the deepest pitching staffs remain...WF, Tenn, UF.

I recognize we didn’t lose because of pitching.

But those early season injuries now leave us in a predicament where we need pitching and can’t miss on who we put out there.

BARELY bigger than the Box. Way bigger than Wake's cracker jack box. However, that wasn't a problem--we never even approached the walls with a hit last night.

Tennessee, Florida, Wake Forest, and Stanford had no issues with pitcher's and travel ball. We got lucky and obtained Skenes through portal and NIL.

I would agree if we were hitting to the track. We have not been.

I know this is a troll but its a correct troll.

If we cant hit HRs or slam the power alleys, we cannot score much.

People don’t realize that was a pretty evenly matched game. They made an incredible play at the plate on Tre. They have very good pitchers but our pitching was good as well.

10ft in the power alleys is substantial as shown by the ball Jobert hit in GM1 to RC.

You have a point honestly. Joberts hit 7th goes out of every single other college stadium. I hated it but this is why Paul changed his philosophy after 2013 and we had a million balls die at the track

Yeah walking the bases loaded with no outs in the 6 inning of a 2 run game wasn't why we lost.
