But they’d never faced a defense like Oklahoma...

SETTING: 2nd qtr, 4:30 left to go, already up by 35

One of the most satisfying yet subtle moments for me was during the long Moss TD, Todd Blackledge audibly gasps with an "Oh, my..."

It was like he was witnessing a massacre of The Little Sisters of the Poor and there was no way to stop the tragedy.

What's absolutely crazy is under Les I feel like we routinely struggled to score 30 and a lot of times we did it was because of a defensive or special teams play. Boy do I not miss the old archaic offenses of old. Here's to hoping O keeps the pedal to the metal even after losing Brady.

I went as well, xmas gift. My first LSU game in a few years since giving up my season tix. By 2nd quarter, all anxiety was gone and we just drank beer and enjoyed the show.

You hit the nail on the head. That anxiety feeling is so much of the joy in being a college football fan. The build up before the game. The adrenaline during. All the little moments of hanging on the edge. In that OU game that feeling was nearly non-existent the second we kicked off. When Jefferson scored that first TD it was obvious it was going to be a route.

this was the byline from the New York Times...oddly enough, this was the best description of the game I know of!!!!!

I was at the game and was simply amazed when the score was 35-7 half way through the 2nd quarter.... then they hung 49 by the half ..... the most enjoyable blow out I've ever witnessed in person.

I would normally get bored a bit with a game like this but once the anxiety was gone, its was so satisfying knowing full well we still had the NCG to go. It was just fun.

That was the number 4 team in the country quarterbacked by a heisman finalist.

The feeling in that stadium an hour before was an LSU party

CFP needs to fix this. OU was not the one of the top 15 programs in the country. Should not have been there even though they were big 12 “champions”.

Besides LSU, GA, FL, AL, AU, and likely A&M would’ve beat OU.

The Georgia we were up 34-3 on going into the fourth quarter?

The tamu we beat 50-7?

At the end of the season we were an unstoppable machine. OU imo was a top 5 top 6 team and MAYBE uga beats them. Bama beats them with Tua for sure. Otherwise their offense was going to light up anyone else.

We were THAT good. No need to diminish Oklahoma. My point was perspective on our dominance

I definitely need to dial it back from 15. Contain Hurts and Cee Dee, game over. Would you have bet OU over any other team I mentioned? Our dominance of A&M and GA does not apply to their matchup with a OU.

I take them over tamu for sure and push with uga fla auburn. All four one dimensional teams. Ou beat fla/Auburn/uga lite in Baylor twice.
