We have this thing called the transfer portal. Even if you take out year 1 and 2 for MM, we have a terrible record in year 3 and 4.

McLoser sucks

Trent was as boring as MM and recruited piss poor but he did have that one sec title which MM will never get.

Trent also has something MM doesn’t, honor. Instead of being fired and collecting a buy out he saw he wasn’t good enough here and left to get another job.

Then again Trent at least had won in major MBB while McLoser hasn’t

It's a shame Wade left the program in shambles where we had no leverage.

More or less of a shame than the tightness of the rims in the pmac?

Don’t forget the tired legs too, from having to play 2 games in four days.

When I went to LSU (1986-1991) we were a basketball school. Baseball was coming strong. Those games were must attend events.

I remember the UNLV game that there were people sitting in the aisles on the steps. Miss those days

The NCAA forced Woody to hire McMahon. Hire McMahon or the Football gets the death penalty. He really didn't have a choice.

He could have hired a better coach than Curley Mcmahon!

At least you’ve stopped promoting McMahon. Some progress

He really is unbelievably bad. I’m pretty sure he’s the worst basketball coach we’ve ever had and not far from the worst coach LSU has had, period.

Correct. Been saying this. LSU thought they had to pay someone a ridiculous amount of money to come to LSU without even knowing the potential penalties. I said they should hire a lesser known for cheap and at least seen what the penalties would even be.

Not sure why administrators are giving him such a long rope. They have pulled the trigger on much more successful coaches with higher buy outs.

You've answered your own question. Not enough boosters with deep pockets are demanding a change. They simply don't exist here.

They existed with the previous coach. The well dried up when we hired a loser.

The money that could have bought him out was wasted on a more expensive version of the same bullshite. Thanks Scott

At least when MM is fired maybe the next coach can use the portal to at least make LSU basketball competitive again

That's FAR from a death penalty

He clearly has no clue how to build a team that can consistently compete at the high major level. He had enough money this offseason and he still couldn’t do it. Talent and team construction are everything at this level of college basketball.

I ain't gonna lie - I really liked the hire when it happened. But there were red flags pretty early - wish it weren't so.

They still exist - they need something that will motivate them. They were very motivated last year but Scott was more motivated to prevent it and came up with the big "not enough NIL money" PR scheme to hold them at bay just long enough.

Yeah people are being purposely obtuse about where lsu basketball has been.
Dale was hosting teams like Georgetown Loyola Marymount UNC Duke Louisville UNLV and UCLA when they were all top 10 teams and we were a lock for the NCAA tourney every year. LSU basketball was an event unto its own.
I don’t dislike McMahon as a person. But he is completely out of his league. He doesn’t know what to do anymore.

LSU has fired many coaches in bball and other sports for significantly less failure than McMahon has put up. I don’t understand why he’s here still.
