80's - Dalton Hilliard, Tommy Hodson
90's - Chris Jackson, Kevin Faulk
00's - Jamarcus Russell (strictly college days, obviously)
10's so far - La'el Collins

How much hype did Johnny Obryant III have coming in? or was that before this board started to care about basketball...

People are answering this question differently. If we are talking college to the pros then answers like Todd Walker and Shaq are correct. If it is high school to college (the way I would answer it) then PP7 is the correct answer. No pre internet prospect has reached the hype of the big names in the last 10 years.

Shaq and it's not close.

You must be young. Shaq came nowhere near the college career of PP7, Bregman, hell...I could name 50 LSU athletes who have had better college careers than Shaq. He kept developing, though, and he ended up one of the greatest LSU athletes ever in the pros - not a runaway number 1, but definitely in the top 10. Now, if you're talking top celebrity, Shaq's probably #1.

Greatest regular season pitcher we've ever had, maybe. CWS performances were horrible. I'll take Louis Coleman by a mile even though he has nowhere near the talent.

Honey Badger's sophomore year. I didn't think there was any way he could live p to the fan hype that was created after his frosh season.....I was very, VERY wrong.

Chris Jackson.

I don't think there has been a more dominant player for LSU in any sport.
