Some cliffs for those who couldn’t watch

“When joe burrow transferred to LSU he was warned he would be handing off to a tailback 60 times a game. Now he says he can see LSU scoring 40-50-60 points a game”

The buzz is a wide open spread offense...AT LSU!

Burrow wears one sock inside out, just because.. and he doesn’t look for the sideline when he scrambles.

Brought up the bama rivalry... 8 years..sigh

Clips of Spears saying “nothing good coming out of LSU”
Booger saying LSU is “now a soft program “

Orgeron now taking us in the right direction but nothing will change until we beat bama.... breaking news

Last clip they showed was Jonathan Giles dancing around in the huddle.. really

No sorry, they started off with burrow so I thought it was going to be about him, ended up just being a 5 min clip talking about LSU.
I’ll edit title

We did it many times last year - let’s keep proving Booger and Spears wrong. Sadly, those two are quickly losing support from the fan base that pays attention.

I doubt we'll see a "wide open spread offense" here, which is a good thing IMO. We don't want to put our defense in a bad position by having quick drives that don't end up with points. I think if we just open the offense a little bit, it'll be a good thing, but we don't need it to be wide open to where we're throwing on 75%+ of our snaps. That's a good way to get your defense tired and lose games bc you can't stop anyone since they're too tired.

I agree. We have a stable of backs, but looks like we have a qb that can handle it, need to give him the keys and open it up

Those comments from Spears and Booger were before the start of last season. Most people agreed with them after watching the MS State game in 2017.

McFarland is currently serving as the honorary chairman for the alumni association national fund.

What reason would he have to be loyal to Saban?

You can spread the ball without being a hurry up offense. They will run tempo but probably only after first downs.

They will go no huddle but they won’t be like Oregon used to be and try and snap it within 10 seconds of getting set.

What’s the difference in throwing three incompletions and running the ball three times for no first down and punting? Nothing.

LSU will still run the ball. LSU will get the team set as quick as possible read the defense and allow Burrow maximum time to figure out what to do with the ball.

The fact I have to explain this to our fan base shows how far behind in times lsu is. I really hope O backs up the talk and I think he will.

Ryan Clark was on 104.5 yesterday giving a 5 minute speech about how awesome Nick Saban is as a coach.

So? Ryan Clark played for Saban and Saban is the best coach in the history of the sport. If you want a homer that’s going to lie to you and say everything is fine no matter what happens then listen to someone else. Booger, Spears, and Clark are just honest and give their opinion. That’s what they are paid to do.

Well, one can wear down an opposing defense while the other would allow the opposing defense to essentially stay rested while on the field.

THAT’s the difference in wearing out your defense when you go three and out.

Not to mention that Booger never played for Saban. He played under Dinardo.

This hasn't worked and hasn't been relevant/ accurate for 12 years now. It is past time to move towards an offense that is built to compete for championships. Look at the offenses that have given Bama problems. Even Alabama themselves, have trended toward a much more aggressive/open offense. Sorry Les, but the college landscape has changed drastically. Defense can not rest with constant 3 and outs, after 2 runs and a hail mary.

Thank you. In his attempt to be a smartass, he didn't even realize he made my point.

Look at NCAA offensive statistics and notice the correlation between redzone td efficiency and overall pass touchdowns. LSU has to dump the fricking useless "jumbo package" and learn quick timing routes inside the 20.
