Analyst / essentially DC in waiting

Saban made similar moves with Kiffin and Sark when they were between jobs. Both (especially Sark at the time) had baggage but we know Dave is gonna be coveted essentially amongst our rivals.

IIRC one of Saban’s reasons for bringing in Sark was to keep us from hiring him

I don't think our front 7 matches the guys Aranda would need as a 3-4 schemer

Yes. Mr. Stoic would be a nice addition. Baker will be a head coach soon.

He probably wants to be away from football at least until the season is over so you're just asking for nothing here

Coaches don't remain the same. It was 7 years ago that he was at LSU. Not saying he is like Pelini, but Pelini was great for us the first time around. Times change.

Why not?

Baylor still has to pay him so doesnt need money for a while

Might want to chill as an analyst until a DC or HC job he really wants is there.

No more retreads. Trust in the HC….. he will get the best out of his staff, or do what Saban used to do….. “the door is that way”

All I can think of with Pelini is how bad and lost Danny McCray looked at LSU, only to go on and be a guy to hold his own with the Cowboys on Sundays.
