Are you all cool with a 17-16 season and getting nuts dragged at home as a +2.5 favorite against UNT?

This is after coming off a horrific 2 win SEC team last season.

McNeese lost, so that's some solace.

Matt McMahon
Head coach - LSU
Record - 31–35 (.470)
Annual salary - $2.6 million

A shame LSU is paying over $2.5 mil for such a subpar coach.

God my month is made not having to watch this team or listen to the Mcmen try to spoon feed us shite for the foreseeable future. What a nasty bunch . They think we hate LSU, amazing.

This year was a step forward from last year. Need to see the same kind of improvement next year over this year or it's going to start to get hot under his arse.

Mcneese losing has no bearing on the state of the LSU program. Anyone who is happy mcneese lost and lessens the blow from the arse kicking they took against North Texas. 1 doesn’t affect the other in building a program.

They will be well-rested, then.

(On an unrelated note, McNeese is 30-4. )

The fact that anyone would still be on here making negative comments about LSU basketball after the season is over just goes to show how miserable your lives really are. So sad.

I would be excited about the future if we didn’t have so many 4th and 5th year players as our main players

No, it’s just a natural reaction to losing. I know you’re dead set on this silly narrative that people just hate McMahon but it isn’t true. If his record were 41-23 instead of 31-33 you wouldn’t have people correctly pointing out how bad it’s been.

Not cool with it because this team fell short of where it should’ve been by 5-6 wins. More of the same from last season just with better players this time around but the actual quality of play and problems we had in year 1 are still there.

Amazing how everyone was optimistic a couple weeks ago after a couple big wins, which was good to see. Need to keep coaches accountable as the standard needs to trend upwards. But damn, he's in his second season that inherited a shite situation with a bad rep. Not saying give him 10 years to prove himself, but damn, at least 2 more to see if he gets it going.

This is exactly why at this stage it shouldn’t strictly be a results based eval. What happens is some fans will hold onto the Kentucky type win as the barometer while others will use the Nicholls loss as theirs. What we should be looking at are the fundamental details, do we defend, take care of the ball, rebound, execute in crucial spots, make FTs and so on. These things don’t require talent to do and stand out regardless of the record and these are the things we’ve been poor at from the beginning til now. A good example is Kentucky who has more talent than anyone in the country but essentially they play like a HS allstar team instead of a high quality college contender which is why they haven’t done anything in recent memory.

According to recent numbers I just found, he is actually 13th. Paris of South Carolina is below him (not for long I suspect). $2.7 million to $2.3 million. From what I've seen of McMahon, he is not being underpaid.

As far as the OP sarcastic comments, I will be more straightforward. I expect LSU men's BB to be the same or worse next season which will seal MM's fate. The only way he saves his job is to hit it big in the portal. His HS class is meh to be kind and so far he hasn't proven he can sign that "take over a game" player. I have watched several teams already in the NCAA tourney that have that player...LSU does not.

One more thing. After watching Kentucky and South Carolina being taken out early by double digit seeds, those upset wins by LSU are quite tainted at this point.
