No it doesn’t. At this point in the season the team is who it is. Not a great hitting team with a total of maybe 5 pitchers we can count on.

Who are these teams in the country that are better than LSU? Overall?

Currently is the operative word. We can only hope we remain so after Arkansas visits next week. There has to be some serious changes in the production of the lineup for LSU to remain a top 8 team after Arky leaves town. I understand slumps, so all we can hope for is that our bats come alive at the end of the year, starting next weekend. I love our top 3 pitchers, and close my eyes when any of the rest are on the mound. Hot bats could make that a lot easier to watch.

Agree.

We aren’t as good as we thought we were going to be.

LSU goes 3-3 over the next two weekends and we’re a top 8 seed.

Don’t know. I’m not making any definitive statements, like you.

I’ve watched college baseball for 30 years and a lot doesn’t make sense. I’ve watched players on this team play extremely well, both this season and in the past. There’s no Collier Cranford or Brandt Broussard who physically can’t compete. There’s a bunch of talent on this team. They aren’t playing their best right now but they can turn it around very quickly.

And Arkansas can only hope to stay after they visit us. Hence why it is a big series. People forget the Hawgs were on life support before this weekend. We were hearing the same shite about Tennessee when they were coming to town and how’d that work out. I feel confident we’ll take the series.

Maybe not but a lot of teams aren't either. This team can be elite but all has to stay on script. Bats need to be Hot and Top 4 Pitchers have to be perfect. Anything outside of that in a Regional or Super and we are home watching CWS on ESPN.

Dude the season is closer to being over it is to starting. Where is this super secret firepower that you’re alluding to?

We gave up a 9 run lead to State on Mother’s Day Sunday in 2023 and looked like we have no pen at all. That’s a week later than we are right now.

There’s no guarantees, but this team has peaked at the postseason 2 years in a row.

It changes from game to game, series to series on this board.

Last week, they were a certain national seed.

Today, they won't make it out of a regional.

The only thing certain on this board is the wildly exaggerated takes after every game and series.

Take two from Arkansas and they're the greatest team in college baseball again.

Are you speaking physically or mentally?

Secondly, LSU is beating them next weekend with pitching. This isn’t Baum

In most years you’re probably right… there aren’t 8 great or even really good teams this year though. As much as they’ve struggled at times so has just about everyone else.

Arkansas dropped 3 series in a row coming into this week.

I’ve learned LSU fans on this board don’t really seek knowledge of other teams. Every team in the country is overrated on this board.

I didn’t understand how most people on this board were drinking the Kool-aid after the Tennessee series. Yes, we looked great Sunday but Tennessee dominated us in Game 1 and 2…we got very lucky in Game 1. We haven’t played a good series since we played at OU. I thought our pitching would be the strength to make a run in Omaha but with Cowan sputtering, that’s in question also
