becuase a bowl game from last year isn't the sole deciding factor on where a team is ranked 9 months later? I mean why rank alabama so high considering their last game?
As other posters have mentioned, we've been one of the 2-4 best teams in america the last 2 seasons, have recruited better than anyone besides alabama the last 3 seasons, and only really have UF in our division to worry about. To go along wiht some really, really talented and experienced guys leading the team.

it all depends on what the other P5 champs do. If the big 10/ACC/Big 12/SEC champs all have 1 or 0 losses, they aren't getting passed by a 1 loss LSU that is not a conference champ.

UGA will get better as the season goes on.... but from a preseason standpoint they are overrated.

—Clemsons schedule is such a joke. Their hardest game is a week 2 TAMU team and a 6-6 FSU team who barely made a bowl game

Georgia is extremely talented and worthy of that ranking. We’ll see if they live up to it. We have to remember, these rankings are a snapshot of a team’s roster and situation since nobody has seen a product on the field yet.
That being said, I think LSU should be ahead of Ohio State.

Preseason polls should be banned. They are based on no relevant data, yet they have a significant distorting effect on polls taken during the season.
