You give Verge and Miriam a nice payout to leave quietly, with a non-disclosure agreement attached. It’s standard operating procedure how things are handled. Money buys silence.

Has Guice even been convicted of a crime?

The reason verge still has a job....

He’s been at LSU for a long time, and has seen ALOT. Those still in power at LSU are afraid of what he will, not might, will say if he is canned. He will not not quietly and that scares a lot of people.

That is why his punishment has been so lax, and why he has not been fired.

I’m assuming T-Derek has been fired. Can’t have a convicted felon around the program.

Firing law firm you’ve been in bed with for 80 years still doesn’t move needle
Employees need to go

This is a prime example of why I will never give LSU athletics or the university support or money with the current administration and BOS idiots in place.

I used to tell kids how great LSU was and to consider it. I will not so that again with these clowns in power. Sad what a once strong university is turning into.

So pay someone to leave quietly for keeping quiet about transgressions?

The investigation is going to turn up all the dirty laundry anyway and if he's still on staff when their findings come out it going to look even worse. Cut ties, let him walk, let him talk and just commit to doing better.

SI 2019

Woodward and Ausberry are planning to conduct a full-scale evaluation of the athletic department. The two administrators are close, so close that Ausberry’s sons call Woodward Uncle Scotty. Their relationship dates back to their jogging days together in the 1990s, when Ausberry was an academic adviser, not yet promoted to athletics, and Woodward was a political lobbyist, not yet hired by Emmert as an LSU academic administrator. They knew each other long before that, of course.

Maybe he shouldn’t still have his job. But I think there is a prevailing feeling that Ausberry was acting under the instruction from senior supervisors. One of the things he was accused of not doing and reporting it was stated he didn’t do anything because several things like he had reported to his superior they had let slide. At some point they admitted it was very confusing as to whom he should report things especially when the President of LSU was handling those things very improperly.

Firing good ole boy law firm gives this board a chance to hire their own good ole boy law firm. That and passes blame for poor management away from the university administration.

Who are the three BOS members who knew?

Well the easiest way to narrow the list is identify all of Bobby Jindal's Appointees. But I think these articles indicate who the 3 are.

Q: Verge, did you know player x was beating up his girlfriend and breaking into her apartment?

A: Yes

Q: Verge, didn't you feel a moral responsibility to act?

A: It wasn't my job!

Response: O

I’m not a lawyer by any means but it would seem through attorney client privilege that Taylor Porter didn’t bear the responsibility to turn in any wrongdoing but instead do their best to defend the decisions of the client. Firing the firm smells strongly of trying to lay blame and pass the buck to a scapegoat. No business can fire everyone that screws up, otherwise nobody would have a job. If you decide the good outweighs the bad of an employee, just say we screwed up, we’ve learned from it and we are moving forward. This pretend punishment of banning from games is an embarrassment.

Cannon didn't commit crimes against a person and secondly in case you haven't noticed times are just a bit different...not better different.

The "woke' would ease him permanently if they had or have their way...and by permanently they would make him a non-person living in squalor.

There is nothing "moral" about scrubbing a record book.

It proves/solves nothing except make a vocal minority feel better.

It is 100% in line with what is wrong with this country right now.
