You’re the only commentor worth responding to in here

Verge should take this “punishment” then walk away on his own terms, and leave the program, but he does care too much

Ignorance on full display for many that consider themselves LSU

Has Guice been convicted or even tried yet?

Should that be the minimum standard for university discipline?
So we pick and choose who has done things that they've not been tried and convicted for that we think are bad enough to remove the records of their existence with the program? Let's go back in time and censure everyone for things they've done? And while your at it, wouldn't you also need to punish all of those who enabled or knew about his behavior but let it continue (likely all the way back to his CHS days)?

Can we scrub Eric Reid, Ryan Clark, and Chris Jackson from the LSU record books too?

Asking for a friend.

What crimes were they accused of?

This (missing games) was how my parents threatened to punish me if I got a “C” on my report card in elementary or middle school.

Is this Drake Davis being referred to in the text to Vurge? Was he not arrested from this particular abuse of his girlfriend so why would Vurge need to report it to title IX after local authorities were in the process of prosecuting this case? Title IX reports to department of education so what kind of enforcement can they do to an individual without violating their rights to due process in a court of law?

Can't fire Verge or Segar.

If we do, they will sue. And all the LSU dirty laundry will come out in the trials.

We definitely don't want a trial (see LEWIS, Sharon). Any trial.

So LSU has no choice but to wrist-slap the accused and keep them gainfully employed. Except for Lewis, who is seeking life-changing money in exchange for her silence.
She will not get $50 million, but she'll get a very nice settlement because one can only imagine the dirt she has on the athletic department.

LSU also handed an additional punishment to Verge Ausberry, an assistant athletic director who received a text message in 2018 from a football player who admitted to hitting his girlfriend. Ausberry did not report it to police or Title IX, and the player went on to abuse his girlfriend for several more months, breaking into her apartment and nearly strangling her one night.

Ausberry already has served a 30-day suspension without pay and is continuing training. The punishment was light because LSU, at the time, had confusing rules on to whom to report such incidents and his superiors had covered up similar instances in the past.

LSU interim President Tom Galligan said Friday night that administrators were looking for some additional way to discipline Ausberry that would be meaningful to him and decided on not allowing him to attend football games for the upcoming season.

The guy needs to be fired. I don't care what he says afterwards and what happens to the program...he needs to go.

bullshite. Let them sue. Let the dirty laundry lead sportscenter every night for a month...the program and the school is better without them in the long run. It sucks but you can't hide a cancer because exposing it will hurt.

What they should do is make him watch every loss from the 2020 season for months on end.

He'd quit in short order.

Has done nothing positive or effective for LSU in this role, but cheerlead a bunch of virtue signaling, fracture the base and cost the university donor money.

Are they going to scrub Miles' records and his national championship too? It's stupid. LSU should have held these guys accountable while they were here and then maybe the current shitstorm would not have hovered over the university for this long.
