quote:No, they didn't intentionally rile up fans. It's more like gross negligence. They fricking suck at showing replays in the stadium.
But I’m supposed to also believe that in this case they intentionally riled the fans up?

It was a clear face mask on TV. I was wondering why the fans were freaking out. I thought they were booing the team for crappy play.

Would not be surprised to see field goal nets in front of the student section next year
Could actually be the future around the whole field. When schools get tired of writing these checks

Do you realize how many drugged tigers you can rent for $250K?

So don't pay it. Problem solved.

It seems to me we have two major issues (of some more, possibly): (1) Fans throwing things on the field, and (2) Fans storming the field before time has expired. It might be harsh, but perhaps both should result in immediate forfeits.

If im lsu, i ask the sec how they expect schools to prevent this from happening. Answer that, and we’ll pay the fine. If the SEC has some preventive measures that lsu isnt following, then so be it. Otherwise, frick off with this shite, like 30 bottles got thrown

I agree with that but I also think there should be a game time penalty to make the punishnent more poignant

The people who were throwing the objects couldn't care less about this. The money is not coming out of their pockets.
I didn't throw anything on the field, of course, but I did rush the field after the Ole Miss game. At least we got our money's worth on that one.

$500,000 fines so far from what are supposed to be fans, paying 2 head coaches. Guess all cost will go up now

Divide thar $250K by how many students got tickets and add it to their fee bill. LSU can't control the governor, Faux Paws or drunk students.

Exactly! I was on the north end zone and it was maybe 20 water bottles in a 3-4 min span

Or if students didn’t show their asses by throwing a temper tantrum and throwing shite on the field. Zero excuse.
Dude, Texas literally got a pass interference that negated an interception overturned by throwing stuff on the field.
Texas happily paid $250k to get that PI overturned
There is no reason for fans not to throw stuff at this point in a pivotal questionable call, and the SEC and those dumbass refs have only themselves to blame for it.

It was hard to tell at the game how much stuff was thrown on the field. I saw a water bottle fly in the south end zone, and it looked like something landed just past the Bama sideline near the north end zone. For those watching on tv, was it a lot of stuff thrown on the field?
