LSU has a QB who can run and throw the ball, something LSU always had to get out of using a 2 QB system. Let this kid Burrow play to his potential.

Flynn was the last guy we had who could effectively do both. But Burrow, recent fumbles notwithstanding, takes care of the ball far better and seems even more savvy than Flynn was.

He once threw a touchdown pass...to himself.
Joe Burrow is...

The most interesting man in the world

He's not a gifted runner but he is able to look over the defense presnap and find opportunities. I've been impressed with his ability to find the open spaces.

Yeah, I wouldn't really call him a "dual threat" qb.

Dang, I wouldn't have believed this feat if I hadn't seen it myself! I mean the guy is scary talented.

He’s a smart runner. Like Drew Brees (but younger) when he runs!

He had 96 yards rushing and 292 yards passing. He may not be a triple threat (except to maybe your girl) but he's definitely a dual threat.

I mean he's not Cam Newton or Mike Vick, but I'd say he's at least somewhat of a gifted runner. He has shown some elusiveness and is not afraid of contact. He's also a lot faster than many people think. His long run the other night was pretty impressive.

Perhaps it's time we focused less on recruiting the quarterback with the best arm or the quarterback with the best legs and instead find quarterbacks that can read the defense. That seems to be the biggest difference between Joe and the unsuccessful QB's we've had recently. As it seems we've lacked the ability to impart this upon quarterbacks, we better start with quarterbacks that have this skill already (then find the best arm and legs).

What makes JB good is that running is not his second or third option. He runs when he should, not when he panics like many dual-threat guys.

Maybe we will try the philly special once sometime this season to see if he can catch too.

Yep. He's elusively fast for his size. He's for the most part made good decisions to run when needed and has done well on designed run plays.

He's not really a dual threat quarterback. He's definitely a pass first quarterback that will run to pick up yards or does enough to avoid the sack to either get a throw off or throw it away. We haven't had a quarterback like him in a long time (if ever?).

It must hurt you to say dual threat, call our QB exactly what he is.

Agreed. But even with Flynn we STILL ran a 2-QB system to get Perrilloux on the field.

I think he's more of a QB that can run instead of a true DT.
