If Nick Saban, or Urban Meyer even, was our coach with this exact team this would have been no where near our predictions before this season... And that is the problem. No one expects LSU to do anything anymore, and I guess there are a ton of people who are ok with that.

It's times like these when we need to look into our own lives for personal gratification.

I was in the 'hire Jimbo' camp, but I'll upvote you for effort and for fostering what could be good discussion.

We have glaring holes on our offensive line and without LF7, LSU might be in worse shape. Yet Les Miles has found a way to get us to 8-3 and the fans want him gone?

Um teams have far more injuries and issues and still have better production.

Um LSU will always win 8 games given the amount of talent they have. Btw, LSU is still a HEAVILY talented team.

quote:

Arkansas slipped up against Toledo and Texas Tech early on so people wrote them off. They were ranked 18 to start the season. They should have beaten A&M and a fake punt that did not work out against Alabama eventually led to that loss, they played great for most of the game. They lose to Miss St by 1.

LSU has no business losing to Arky or Ole Miss by double digits. Period.

quote:

They beat us and the Fans crumble to their knees because Arkansas sucks, right?

We continue to struggle to EVEN BE frickING COMPETITIVE. LAST YEAR 17 POINT LOSS, 17-0, THIS YEAR ANOTHER 17 POINT LOSS.. YET... Mississippi beats them the following week.. and we can't even be competitive.. And you question what our deal is? Forget Arkansas sucked early on and got better.. other teams are able to be competitive.. but we look like straight dog shite. 2 YEARS STRAIGHT.. to Arkansas.. then follow up with another shitty performance vs a team we beat last year who lost to florida and memphis.

FLORIDA HAS A WORSE OFFENSIVE line than we do.

quote:

I am not saying this justifies anything but I think Les Miles deserves to be here even after struggling this season.

It's going to be the same shite every year.. We win 7-8 games on talent vs inferior teams.. and when we face equally talented teams we will struggle.. because we don't coach them up or put them in the best position to succeed vs talent..

This is the issue.. WE CAN'T EVEN BE COMPETITIVE VS THESE TEAMS IN THESE LOSSES..

Yet Tenn, Arkansas, Ole Miss can all be competitive vs the "mighty" bama.. but we can't do anything..

Miles never has a backup plan. He sticks to his only plan and his philosophy.. which works against inferior talented teams.. and it makes it one huge struggle against better teams.

quote:

How come so many people forget? It would have been great for us to beat Arkansas and Ole Miss but it still would have been much better than anyone saw coming in 2015. Yet somehow Les will never get that credit.

Credit for what? Winning games on talent? and not being competitive in other SEC games.

Dude, go back and look at LSU's record vs SEC competition over the past 4 years.. It isn't pretty. The trend is mediocre.. Of course we will continue to win 8 games a season and you think that's good enough?? LSU puts more players to the NFL than any other team.. and those guys are straight up balling there too.. and we don't have much to show for it..

That's fine you want to settle for mediocrity.. I would prefer LSU try to do better.. I know they can be better.

I keep seeing several excuses about why a Coach that wins 8 or more games a season should be fired by saying it is more than 2-3 losses. Let's go back to August and look at the Season Previews for 2015. 8/20 - College Football Poll - Final Record Prediction 7-4 7/7 - Athlon Sports - Advocare V100 Texas Bowl (vs. Oklahoma St) 5/5 - ESPN Bowl Projection - Citrus Bowl (vs. Wisconsin or Penn State) 6/9 - AP Sports Bowl Projection - Citrus Bowl (vs. Wisconsin) 8/19 - Roll Bama Roll Season Projections - 8-4 9/1 - SI Bowl Projections - Citrus Bowl (vs Nebraska) SB Nation Bowl Projection - Liberty Bowl (vs. Oklahoma St) 7/10 - B/R Las Vegas Odds Season Projections - 8-4 Saturday Down South did an overall look at the CFB Playoff Projections before the season started - LSU is not anywhere on it! LSU wins a couple games over no real competition outside of Florida and LF7 dominates until Alabama and all of a sudden, LSU fans think we should have been in the Title game this year. We have glaring holes on our offensive line and without LF7, LSU might be in worse shape. Yet Les Miles has found a way to get us to 8-3 and the fans want him gone? Last season was the same thing, the previews and projections did not have us any better off. Yes the loss to Alabama sucked but they are better than us. They beat us and the Fans crumble to their knees because Arkansas sucks, right? Ole Miss sucks too? They dominated us and were the better team, anyone says different and they are just plain bias. I am not saying this justifies anything but I think Les Miles deserves to be here even after struggling this season. How come so many people forget? It would have been great for us to beat Arkansas and Ole Miss but it still would have been much better than anyone saw coming in 2015. Yet somehow Les will never get that credit. This is possible the worst comment I have ever seen. You have no idea the ramifications of miles being head coach so I would like to explain. 1. He has yet to put a decent QB in a position to help our team succeed nor has he had the ability to develop a QB in any way. 2. The guy does not let our OC do his job. Look at the guys our OC has worked with. BREES, FLACCO. Guys like these have been worked with Cam Cameron. You know when our offense is sitting on the field with our thumbs in there arse it is because Miles is changing the play that our OFFENSIVE COORDINATOR has just called. 3. He is ranked 6th in the SEC in wins the last 3 years. Might I add that he has a decorated record but that doesn't mean crap. If you look at recently he has lost very big games that he should of one or had the opportunity to win but due to stubborn play calling and a very predictable offense we were not able to win those games. 4 we are one of the top ranked colleges in recruiting yet we still could not compete in any of the games we lost this season. Now les miles is a great guy and has done a lot for the program in his early years here. All great things eventually come to an end. You are agreeing with the mediocrity which no human being should. You are absolutely wrong in every word of you post.

Oh yeah, by the way.

LSU hasn't lost 3 straight since the 90's

Oh by the way oh wise one,

LSU hasn't lost 3 straight by double digits since the 60's..

Think about that..

All of what he said. We look like we don't belong on the field with Arkansas or Ole Miss. The hope is gone when we get down double digits. We never looked great all year, but we were mostly blinded by LF7 highlights .

The wheels had come off. The only reason they got up for the aTm game was they thought Less was leaving. It reminded of Hal Hunter and the arkie game

frick you guys, I'm pretty happy with being mediocre. We weren't far off from losing to Syracuse and EMU had a chance to beat us. Just think if this team was less than mediocre, we could be the current Michigan-App State. I like mediocre, it means we aren't shite.

Jesus Christ people! LSU was losing 6-7 games every year not long ago.

But we were not paying the coach $4million a year with a $15 million buyout back then.

We also didn't have consistent top 5/10 recruiting classes and doing absolutely nothing with them.

I'm not sure that I can think of a team that has done less with more talent than LSU in recent years.

funkin a Cotton! Lets get back to losing those 6-7 games. you know, "the good old days". frick winning 10 games and a title. Lets all set our goals on underachieving.

You are the perfect example of why most things in this state suck or nearly suck. Dont look at more successful programs, nicer roads, parks, or anything better elsewhere and aspire to it. Just maintain the status quo. I mean, hey, they're not THAT bad, right? We wouldn't want to be considered champions would we? No, that would go against the narrative of La. as the loveable loser. We would never want to be first in anything because that would require risk. And risk is scary. So lets just keep what we got. It may not be great, but it'll do. And most importantly...its safe.

Yeah, I'm cool with mediocrity as well. Actually kinda want us to suck next year so I can have my Saturdays back. Gonna start a new hobby like paddle-boarding or something.

Just because previews say we suck we should accept right? Frick that. This program should be picked 10-2 worst every year with the supposed great recruiting. Simple, coaching sucks.

Why isn't LSU good enough to compete and beat those teams? That is the real question. Miles is not getting 'it' done. Period.
