Grew up in Louisiana, went to LSU, so always a fan.

But, I moved away after college to another SEC town.

NOTHING will make you a more die-hard fan than moving away and having to OWN each win/loss with the opposing fan base.

First game was the Peach ( now Chick Fil A) bowl against Clemson in 96. Next season my family got season tickets, and that was the year of THE Florida game. Been hooked ever since. Senior year at LSU was the 2011 season, regardless of 1/9 that season was awesome to experience in the student section.

I became a fan back when I was around 12-13 years old. My cousin played for the LSU basketball team and I got a chance to visit him a few times. That was the first university campus that I had been to. I've been a fan since.

Growing up in Shreveport it wasn't a big college sports place. In 91 had a 6th grade teacher (Mrs. Bland) that would give extra credit quizzes on Mondays about the LSU games. Started following the team and have been a fan ever since

About 1960, (I know, I'm an OLE FART at 65), my Dad's youngest brother who happens to only be 9 years older than me, would have me and my younger brother over at My grandmother's house to listen to LSU games on the radio. Reception was not always good but the three of us would be laid out on the floor around that radio , listening. Unc had been to a game or 2 and would describe the atmosphere.
From earliest memory, I have been a Tiger fan as to us that was the state school and the BEST!, but those games and my uncle and that radio forged a lifelong love for LSU. Then in '69 when I went to my first game.....well, y'all know!
I know this is not the first time I have related this, but you asked!

What made you a LSU fan?

I've been a Tiger fan for as long as I can remember but my official fandom started in September of '93. I was 2 years old. My first game in Death Valley was a home loss to Auburn but at the time I had no idea what was going on, but I so much fun I was dying to go back and luckily my Dad had season tickets. Before I was born he only had two seats but LSU called and asked him if he wanted a third, the summer he found out I was on the way. He snatched it up and the rest is history. Been bleeding Purple and Gold ever since!

Became a fan when I became a student. Don't really see much of a reason to be a diehard fan of school you or your children have never attended.

Was born into it. Dad is from Louisiana and loved LSU his entire life. He joined the military instead of going to college. Have family members who went to LSU and despite my not attending LSU, my passion has never wavered. I was accepted twice both my senior year of high school and as a transfer. It's one of the only things in life I ever look back on and wish I would have done, but hindsight is 20/20. I will someday get a graduate degree from LSU.

My first game was in 1998 vs Tim Couch and the Kentucky Wildcats. Since then, I have been very fortunate to attend nearly every big game played in Tiger Stadium since 2006 despite living 12 hours away. Some of the fondest memories of my life to date and I look forward to many more in the future.

Tried and true here. When i first opened my eyes in this world it was in Womens Hospital in Baton Rouge. Some of my first memories as a toddler were my PawPaw yelling at the stadium club attendants to let me. My dad was a 3L ball player for LSU from 71-75. My pawpaw was part of the first 100 to establish TAF and is still in top 150 in donations. Season ticket holders since the 50's. It's in meblood.

My dad, from Mobile, played for Auburn as a freshman in 57, and transferred to LC in Pineville where he met my Mom who had been attending USL (SLI at the time). As I was coming up (70s), for whatever reason, my dad was a Bear fan and loved Alabama. He always said he hated LSU because when he played at LC, fans listened to the LSU game in the stands. Later on (80s) mom went back to school and graduated from LC and went to LSU for her post grad. My oldest sister went to LSU and my other sister graduated from Mobile College (now Mobile University). My younger brother grew up a Bammer, I think mostly because of my dad and I was an LSU fan from day 1. We had many a fist fight over the game through the years. He attended USA and I attended USL, but have been and always will be a tiger. My post grad degree was from ULL as well. Now I live and work in Alabama and am surrounded by bammers daily. I keep the faith and fly my colors. My brother and I arent very close mainly because he's a crazy gump. His boys are warped like him. He did marry an Aubie so, lol. My brother in law (wife's youngest brother) graduated from LSU in 2003 and he and I are way closer.

Blood:

Edmond Chavanne is my great uncle; too many other blood connections to list but they include graduates; football, baseball, swimming team members; folks who helped construct parts of the campus; son currently attending and hopes for my daughter to follow suit; etc.,etc., etc.

Basically I'm a brain-washed true-believer in all things LSU and will always, always be an LSU Tiger Football fan and always, always smile real big when they defeat the likes of Ole Piss, Tulane - and the red team.

Out-of-stater here, from NC. No family ties or childhood fandom to speak of. My grandmother was born in Louisiana, and that was about all I had to do with the state growing up. The first LSU sporting event I attended was the 2009 NCAA basketball tournament in Greensboro. I eventually became a student at LSU, and I've been hooked ever since.

10 or 11 years old listening with my dad to John Ferguson radio broadcast. Made my first game at 15, walking in to TS as GBFTL marching on to the field (my first time in an enclosed stadium). Still get chill bumps when I hear da da DAH dah. Was a student during ChollyMac/Stovall years. I bleed purple and shite gold.

Both my grandpa and my dad went to Grad or Law school at LSU. I was raised a Tiger and born in Shreveport, but what reeled me in to LSU football was Eddie Kennison's kickoff return vs Nick Saban's Michigan St. during the 1995 Independence Bowl. I was 5 years old when my dad took my brother and I to that game.
