The big worry I have is we are gonna drop more money for the sake of dropping more money.

The big investment CMM went for this past season was Coleman Hawkins that ended up going to Kansas st. I believe we offered him around 800-1mill

Then k state paid that baw 2 million plus.

He went on to average 10 points and was a mid rebounder. Basically Jalen Reed.

We have got to actually hit on players that will work together, just spending NIL won't get us anywhere.

This wasn't an SEC roster and it showed.
It’s really a shame that no one told McMahon LSU plays in the SEC and that’s the type of roster he should put together. The poor guy just can’t catch a break.

Can’t build anything losing guys like that

Anyone who watches college basketball regularly and is familiar with NIL isn't surprised by Chest leaving. Some bigger team missing a player with his skillset and doesn't need him to contribute much on offfense is going to drop a huge bag.

We aren't in a position to overpay flawed role players for next season. This thing has to be rebuilt from scratch, with a few exceptions.

He’s leaving because he doesn’t like McMahon and who can blame him. It’s a pattern with this coach.

Agreed. McMahon clearly has an eye for talent - hence the need for a complete rebuild in year 4.

The rants boy Mike Williams has also entered but that was expected. Assuming we will get one or two a day for the next few days

yes, if you disagree you don't know ball.
he showed a lot of potential but got pushed around in the post and was not a threat with the ball.

He’ll get a power 4 offer but wouldnt be surprised if he is a backup

I can't believe that there are people still defending McMahon. 2 of his 3 years have been historically bad for LSU.

By performance, he's literally one of the worst coaches in LSU history.

He would have to go 22-11 next year to match Trent Johnson's 4 year record.

And 45-19 over the next 2 to match Johnny Jones.

This is why I’ve said one of his worst abilities is his talent identification. On paper, we’ve recruited well under him. Problem is almost all of his highly regarded players are bust. Giving him more money just wastes what could be used on a good coach.

Going into year 4 and still needs to be rebuilt from scratch? Speaks volumes.

Year -1 returning 3 players was a burden

Year-4 returning 2 players is a GIFT

Agreed here but it’s a rational assumption. The current state of things and morale has to be very low. No one likes to lose and players want to be developed and have opportunities after college basketball. Thinking Chest left bc he thinks another school will provide better opportunities to win and develop seem likely to me, which is another way of saying he might not “like” McMahon.

Like the story you just made up? Pretty easy to see with my own eyes and from what happened this season. If you want to talk about making stuff up how about your little story with Chest being an NBA player and how he and McMahon had a plan to get Chest to the NBA if his shooting just improved a little. You even said his shooting was just about there for him to make the jump to the NBA but now he’s just a role player lol. Sit down child

Why aren’t we getting a new coach if we’re starting from scratch anyway with our team entering the portal?

It is funny to watch the McMen crap on this guy, after using his absence the last few games as an excuse for poor performance.
