Wade would’ve demanded the increase in NIL too.

Maybe we can finally get our alumni like Shaq involved? Matt can’t even do that

What you said is correct. It is the right decision. Gone are the days of hiring and firing coaches with multi million dollar buyout. With what we need to fund NIL buyout are simply untenable

Funny how this story breaks the Monday after a win over a shitty Oklahoma team. Like improving to 2-10 in the SEC is impressive.

Let’s see what the mood is after they close out the SEC schedule by getting outclassed and destroyed by some better teams.

Anyone using UH or Cenac as an example is clueless. Houston Basketball IS the sport there and the Fertitas bankroll that program. They would have outbid anyone including LSU for Cenac.

Why? What in 3 years has indicated that we are light years behind the rest of the league in talent.

Do we have the best talent, no. Are we maximizing potential, hell no!!

Why don't the local media question McMahon's ability?

They accept that it is the player quality or NIL budget.

They must fear Woodward more than they care about the truth.

There is nothing in McMahon's resume that should give him this shield from criticism.

Mcpuffs using that word in reference to anyone else

But the real question is, was lsu competitive against Houston. That’s literally all that matters to you, right?

Why would any prudent major donor for LSU ever bother with giving McMahon the money to buy five stars when his current product makes people want to kill themselves

The local media does not cover LSU men's basketball.

Used to be a day there were several media outlets that had reporters designated to men's hoops and the radio talk shows would dedicate time to it. Now only the Advocate has a writer that seems to be no more than a stringer working the basketball beat and he seems to do only a surface job of it, and it does not seem that he checks in with McMahon regularly maybe only shows up to get quotes at press conferences....when they have them which ain't often. Doubt he travels with the team either like beat writers used to.

And to your next comment they don't know or care enough about men's hoops to put in the effort to qualify or confirm this NIL information.

And there is no dedicated podcast to men's hoops which seems unthinkable to me. Hunt used to do one but that ended 3 years ago and no one else has done one since.

Can't wait for there to be 14 people in the stands next year. SW won't admit he was wrong and is purposefully setting back this program due to his ego. The fans demanded change and we look like Arkansas football. I want my coach back.

Does that mean McMahon is going to fill out a whole new roster next year?
I think the idea is that if we could bump up from $1m to $3m per year we could retain our young talent and add 2 really good players in the portal. Hopefully a small forward and point guard.

The hs recruiting could have worked but will take too long from where we started.
