No! It's not as simple as that... How do you think potential recruits would look at it if LSU began the habit of plucking transfers from the portal every single year? We would never see Top Tier QB's commit to LSU

Right because King last full year as a starter he only rushed 41 times......Burrow rushed 115 2019/20

College football: transfers & multi threat QBs are leading teams to the CFB playoff at an alarming rate
Tigerdroppings: I don’t want transfers or multi threat QBs!!!!
I can’t wait until some of you people finally flush out the Les miles era way of thinking

If King comes to LSU and is better than Myles
Unless MB gets hurt, he will be "the guy" in 2020.

Myles hasn't really done anything at this level to warrant that kind of blind faith. Maybe he is that guy, but can't hurt to force him to actually earn it

Let the best man win.

If he comes here, it's because the coaches don't see Brennan as QB1 worthy.
Wrong! If he comes here its for insurance if Brennan were to be injured.
Maybe Parrish, like Brennan a couple years ago, isn't ready to be the starter.

Do not want.
This. Brennan has spent time with Burrow and Brady. He knows what it takes to be a championship QB. It's more than just being a great athlete.

LSU is currently the favored school

He isn’t going anywhere to be an insurance policy. If he comes here it’s because the staff wants a better starter and think he would be it, because you would almost certainly lose Brennan in that scenario.

We don't need him. We have Myles waiting and once he leaves then we have either TJ Finley or Max Johnson

I’m not a huge Brennan fan but if King can’t be here til summer, what’s the point?
He won’t surpass Myles’ knowledge of our system. I guess you could take him as a backup policy but he isn’t gonna want to sit.

King played half the season, didn't like the results, so he quit.
That's why I would be shocked if CEO is legitimately courting him. I can't envision any scenario where O would reward that attitude.

He is merely for quality depth if he comes here. Myles is our QB next year. 1000%.
Personally, I’m on the Myles train and I don’t think the coaches take him.
That said, if they do take him it’s 100% a sign they think he can compete for the starting role.
1. He only has one year of eligibility left - he’ll be a RS Sr next year. We would be giving up a chance to sign another incoming freshman or save a spot for next year. We would also be using one of our 85 scholarships for a 1-year guy.
2. We are already going to have four scholarship QB’s on the roster next year. Both incoming freshmen have already signed. King would be number 5.

Is this based on anything other than we just graduated our Heisman winning QB? Like actual info or just lines a book is putting out?

Although I appreciate Myles patiently awaiting his turn while learning, I want the very best player at each position. If King comes to LSU and is better than Myles, I want King to lead us.
Simple as that
My concern is the precedent it sets - I too want the best guy, but would rather top recruits see LSU as the place where we respect the 'next up' mentality, not just constantly looking outside the team to one-up the next guy. That being said, if King is the best guy and additive to the team/leadership, I'm all for exploring that route!

And how many transfer QB’s have won the championship in the last 10 years?

No Myles, No like.
