LSU defense has played three horrible games against experienced veteran QBs

Our defense is ranked 47 in the SP+ at the moment. We looked really good against MSST and Auburn. Obviously we collapsed against Ole Miss, MIZZOU, and FSU however we have handled business against inexperienced QBs or lesser offenses.

We have a golden opportunity to wreak havoc for Milroe by drawing up creative blitzes and forcing him to beat us with his arm. We have the personnel for that.

I have fully convinced myself this team isn’t losing again.

Key to Bama game is don't let Milroe beat you with his legs and don't let WRs get deep on you.

The key is punch Burton in the dick a few times and make him quit

LSU was right with FSU late in the 3rd quarter
Despite FSU blowing it open late that game was much closer than the final score indicated
I wish we could've played that game with Logan Diggs on offense and Jenkins coaching the dline

Same thing with Ole Miss, despite the defensive meltdown all it needed was one stop late and LSU wins the game

I'd be okay with a bend but don't break gameplan to prevent the big plays and to keep things in front of us. If we can hold them to FGs on some possessions, we can win a shootout.

Mizzu and Mississippi were the best offenses you face all year. People don't realize that when they blast the defense.

I am not convinced because of the secondary. No, Langlois, BTJ, Z Alex. Unknown reasons Chestnut, Harris. I’m sure I’m missing someone else. It will be tuff end of the season.

Yeah if he has improved at anything it's with the deep ball. Bond is a problem.

Did we?

They played pretty damn good in the second half vs mizzou who is a good football team with a better receiver than anyone on bama.

Hell the first half vs FSU was great as well. If the offense converts in the first half in the red zone that game looks a lot different.

They have played bad for two full games-OM and Arkansas.

Yeah, they aren't going to change defensive philosophies in two weeks. They're going to play zone, not turn their backs to Milroe and hope to get to him most of the time with the front four. From time to time they'll bring someone off the edge but they aren't going to change philosophies now.

In fact, Milroe and the Bama offense is big reason for this philosophy in the first place.

Ditto. They played great 2nd half against one of the better teams in the country, Mizzou, with a very good QB and a great WR. They played 3 qtrs with FL St. And 5-6 missed tackles were the difference in Ole Miss. I have seen a better defense with better tackling (i.e. swarming to the ball), better D line play and better DB play in the last 3 games. Bama is good but not great.

That's true. But those teams absolutely torched LSU where they did not as much against other reasonably comparable teams. LSU is a BAD defense. They just had the fortune of playing two bottom 25% offenses over the last two weeks.

Is it possible that LSU has gotten a little bit better since that stretch beginning with the 2nd half vs. Arkansas through the first half vs. Mizzou? Sure. But to think there has been tremendous improvement is probably unrealistic.

This game is going to come down to whose strength is better than the opponent's strength, and whose weakness is worse than the opponent's weakness? Alabama is a top 15 defense. Will they completely shut down LSU? Probably not. Can they hold LSU to under 35? Maybe, considering they've only allowed one opponent to score over 30 all season (Texas)

On the flip-side, can LSU hold Alabama under 30? Maybe considering Arkansas, Ole Miss and South Florida have.

For me, I think the number LSU has to hit to have a really good shot at winning is 38. Even against LSU's crappy defense I think LSU can do just enough to hold Alabama under that number. If they can't, that will be the final nail in a wasted season for LSU. One where they will have wasted an offense that has come as close to matching 2019 as anyone could have ever reasonably hoped for.

Funny how much better the defense plays regardless of QB when they tackle.

Cornerback position is on life support. Saban and company have two weeks to exploit with an improved Milroe. May néed to hide the women and children for this one. Some fans on this board this refuse to face reality that it could get ugly.

Spy Milroe as perk did vs BY

Bracket Burton - Milroe states him down and his number 1 target
