I just don't see that way. Geralds looked really good in game 1. Green was solid. Dom had a nice game. Blockin was good. We have really good players in that room.
Clemson might be bad but that OL wasn't small

The good thing is that Texas A&M lost 4 of 5 starters on their oline and we play them early in the season. It really shouldn’t be close imo if we can contain Reed.

Typically I wouldn’t say anything after week 1 but facts are facts and no other SEC team held a power 4 offense under 150 yards.
There weren’t many SEC teams that held their cupcake opponents under 150 for that matter.

That push is disruptive and if our linebackers are doing their job then McKinley simply grabbing the guy should set up the linebacker to make that a loss or very short gain at worst.
Better if Dom gets them down but our LBs seem to be spot on so far.

Exactly, holding Tech to under 150 yards, even though a lower tier team, would be another piece of good information about how bad arse this defense is.

Our Linebackers are going to make a lot of tackles but when Dom gets his hands on the QB or HB he just needs to be better at wrapping up, he will get that cleaned up. the push him and Green generated just needs to continue and we will have success.

Defense is so much better than last year and seemed quick to the ball.
But I do think Clemson's offense is not good. New QB and I'm not sure how experienced the OL was, but they didn't do a good job at pass blocking and especially run blocking.
Poor run game and fresh QB coupled with a much much better defense in LSU. Its hard to believe Clemson got that much worse from last season. So I say it is both.

This.
A QB who, though in his 4th season, hasn't played a ton and was making his first road start. A new OL and new primary RB. That's not the ingredients for a fast start. Made worse by the fact that the OC is a guy whose career trajectory has been steadily trending down for the better part of a decade.

Their QB room is very suspect. The offensive line is essentially a complete rebuild (of course, so is LSU's). They have a couple of receivers and backs who will definitely play on Sundays.
The overall talent level at Clemson has dropped significantly since Trevor Lawrence's time and accelerated since 2022. They should be better defensively than they showed on Saturday.

I'm going with our Defense is very good. I'm holding out on giving it Elite status until I see a few more games. Elite is something that must be earned and not given after one game against a Clemson offense that is not very good. Something to note, our D-line accounted for 5 tackles all night. Yes, I know, it's not all about the tackles, it's about disruption and chaos too. Just need to see more games against better opponents, that's all. We should have that to revisit after week 3, I believe.

I think both can be true, but I was taken aback by how bad Clemson looked and yes we had something to do with it but they looked slow.

The ole miss game comes down to which defense can stop the other offense more, and I think will go LSU's way pretty favorably. The only concern is it is the 1st big road test.
