Our rules need to be in line eith rules set by the NCAA and our peers in the SEC. To have more stringent rules than our competition doesn’t make good sense.

But I am alarmed as to how many starters that we have had break the rule knowing that one more busted test and you are off the team. What is wrong with these guys?

This isnt true

Every team is subject to the same amount of NCAA tests

But tests done by the school is up to each institution, and LSU does far more of these than almost all other SEC schools

I got tested at least twice a year by LSU. The tennis players at Bama said they got tested maybe once their entire 4 years

Or how about players, that know they ding a positive, have enough discipline to not freaking do it.

How about we stop hurting the fricking team by holding them to a higher standard than our competitors?

Also, what the frick do you think the team doctors are doing when they have acid and pains? Maybe letting them smoke a little weed is better than injections And prescriptions.

Supposedly we do not hold them to a higher standard. So someone should probably lay out the compliance rules for our team vs others in detail because there seems to be a lot of confusion.

Our policy is in line with other schools

However, we drug test substantially more than other schools, it isnt even close

Why does LSU test more? They’re not going to make points with the NCAA. If you want to be a a dumb arse with added testing the NCAA will let you.

Of course there is. It is certainly debatable, and there are plenty of researchers who think weed is worse. You exaggerate the point when you say there is no valid argument; maybe they aren’t compelling enough for you. There are certainly valid arguments to support the point of view that alcohol is just as bad but in different ways.
Sure, maybe it's exaggerated, but you are making a distinction without a difference. Alcohol- especially in large quantities - is simply not good for human bodies. And that's before we get into the carnage of traffic accidents, spousal abuse, etc.

I do not make the argument that marijuana is harmless, but alcohol is just clearly worse. And I can guarantee you nearly 100% of the underage athletes (and student body, for that matter) happily break that law over and over and over again with impunity while in school.

And yet we don't seem to have any outrage over it.

Dare is stupid for not knowing how to game the tests, but let's not act like the policy isn't entirely stupid. It's quite self-evident that many of the "The rules are the rules" people actually have a bias against marijuana and in favor of alcohol.

Legalize It !

Dare could have used the new rule to advertise it !

Like the old Bob Marley shirts. How can weed be legal here and there and some can grow it and our guy doesn't want to go down the Big Pharma route and now he can't play at LSU but can play somewhere else in NCAA, WTF kinda BS is that ! Seriously Dare needs to stay and get injunction to play !

It was found on the grave of Solomon
The Herb is for the Healing of the Nations
The list goes on & on & on !

Rosenthal was our starting LT
Gilbert was our 2nd highest recruited player on the roster aside from Stingley and was a stud as a freshman in an offense that didn’t properly utilize him and is a future first round pick
Ika is going to be an all Big 12 DL under Aranda and Pelini had him riding pine.
Brooks played on a national championship team as a true freshman
Hampton started most of this past season at Safety and played as a true freshman on a national championship team
Bradford loss probably doesn’t hurt us at all but he’s still a talented player leaving the program after 1 season in which he saw action as a true freshman.

These kind of things add up and are the kinds of impact players that our top competition (Bama, UGA, Clemson, Ohio State, etc) are not losing and definitely not at the rate we currently are.

I agree with this, let's pump these guys full of opioids and let them loose if they develop an addiction after they use up eligibility.
