No. But other coaches will use it against him on the recruiting tail if he's not under long term contract. See Patrick Surtain for evidence of this.

Kinda like you demanding will wade be fired during the Arkansas game?

I did nothing of the sort. My exact words were “not taking a timeout there is like a firable offense” - I didn’t demand he be fired.

It was still stupid not to take a timeout in that spot regardless of the outcome in overtime.

Why not, Louisiana is loaded with money they don't know what to do with.

Every school keeps their HC under long term contract. It's to create a sense of stability for recruiting.

Right. Because extending Les 8 years was totally worth the the three years of recruiting we got out of it.

1-2 year extensions aren't bad. But Alleva is an idiot (See Les Miles' extension).

You should pay much more attention. Alabama used coaching instability to flip him. AD's want to create an air of confidence in their coach - all the way until they fire them.

He still has 3 years left on his existing contract. That's plenty for recruits.

It's certainly arguable whether Orgeron deserves an extension. It's not arguable whether failing to get an extension is used as a negative in recruiting. It 100 percent is.

Yeah... they didn’t use contract length to impart that

They said “we are gonna beat this guys arse every year till they fire him. He lost to Troy”

He had 4 years on his contract. He was literally coaching his first year of a contract. If the length of the contract was the issue: it was never long enough. And that’s just an absurd arguement.

Also, should other coaches use this against O, he can’t be expected to overcome this weak arse argument?

He’s got 3 years left. Everyone feels like next year is the year to give him an extension. He should be able to explain this.

Why? You don't give a guy extension (before you have to) when no other team in the country is going to out-bid you for him.

Hopefully the buyout is reasonable.

Orgeron had a good season. He’s made moves to improve the offense. I wouldn’t have extended him until next year, but w/e.

Hopefully the team gets better results.

Which had crap all to do with the length of his contract, but keep pushing this dumb narrative.

I'm sure I'll get banned again, but what a pathetic joke. This administration is a complete embarrassment to LSU fans.
