10-3 is 10-3.

And a loss to Troy is the same as a loss to Bama or a win over UGA is the same as a win over LA Tech.

That's not an apples to apples comparison, but you already knew that.

10-3 and not winning the West in '15 is 10-3 and not winning the West in '18.

Finishing 10 spots higher in the polls and playing in the Fiesta Bowl vs. Texas bowl is not "meh, essentially the same thing"

By definition, we were objectively ranked as the 6th best team in America at the end of the season.

Come on, man. You are a reasonable guy. I like reading your posts often.

Results on the field matter, not rankings. LSU beat the shite out of Georgia, but they also blew it against Florida and A&M.

10-3 is 10-3

LSU finished tied for 5th in conference in 2018. You are judged by how you perform against your peers.

Where we finished had nothing to do with anything LSU could control. We won and lost the same number of games.

The only constant is we didn't win our division.

Look I’m no huge Coach O fan. But there is zero reason to melt here.

Dude was NEVER going to get fired this year unless we miss a bowl or something. If he has back to back 8-4 seasons or some shite, then his buy out two years from now is basically what it is now and we can fire him for 8-4 twice.

Any meltdown over this is just little penis syndrome misplaced.

I’m currently cautiously optimistic because of Joe Brady, Joe Burrow, And Aranda. Every body calm the hell down.

Based on the current trajectory that Coach O has the football team headed, IMO LSU is getting a lot of value from that contract extension.

At this point Coach O is exceeding expectations.

This is a good extension outside the 10 mil buyout. It extends him out long enough to show lsu's commitment to 2020 recruits. And they didn't give more than deserved

Results on the field matter

They absolutely do, and every year is different one to the next. This year's schedule is not next year's schedule. This year's outcomes for everyone can be viewed at differently than next year's outcomes.

The results on the field in 2018 resulted in a final ranking of #6/#7. The results on the field in 2015 resulted in a final ranking of #16/#17.

In 2018 we played an undefeated team in the Fiesta Bowl.
In 2015 we played a crap Texas Tech team with zero defense in the TEXAS bowl.

We got 5 home SEC games in 2015 because of a hurricane.
We did NOT get 5 home SEC games in 2018.

These are fairly noticeable differences to anyone who follows college football.

Barring a complete meltdown this year of biblical proportions, he wasn’t going to be fired or leave anyway. It’s goes down in 2020 significantly.

So again, 12-2 = 12-2, but hey we won a national title and finished #1 with one of those. But, same thing in the end.
