The real question is why would you not carry a firearm as a high profile athlete walking around BR?

We can assume that they do but to what extent? I think they need to be more strict on these kids.
I agree, however, we don't know how or to what extent ADULTHOOD is being talked about.
If i was to advise BK on a topic like this, I'd say he needs to look at past players geared towards specific topics. I'd start with asking TM7 to come talk to the team about making good choices and not putting your future ar LSU, or beyond, in jeopardy.

What you just sent in that link is laws pertaining to bringing a firearm to a parade
No, the parade statute is a couple subsecjtions later RS 14:95.2.2 - Reckless discharge of a firearm at a parade or demonstration
As I noted in earlier thread, the Residential Life Policy and even the dorm contract all appear to be in contradiction of state law and state constitutional protections. I find it hard to fathom that is an oversight. The university's attorneys couldnt have missed that. It.seems.to be deliberate attempt to disuade students from exercising their rights.
Now, I wonder if eviction, expulsion or other university sanction of a student resident simply possessing in their dorm or to/from vehicle iaw the law would hold up in court if challenged.

Schools are gun free zones too but every year a couple of them get shot up.

you’re not allowed to have a gun in your vehicle on campus. Look up LSU’s gun policy. I don’t make the rules. I’m just explaining them. High-school kids aren’t allowed to have them in their cars either on campus even if they’re 18 years old. The same rule applies for public universities.
I am going throw this out there not to start an argument but just say I am not sure if the above post is accurate and if it is if it is even legal. I worked at a facility is a government contractor and had some pretty strict rules. This place has an armed guard at the gate and you have to badge in just get in the gated parking lot. They had a stink because they told employees they couldn’t have a gun in their vehicle. After some arguing the company had to change their policy. Because their rule went against Louisiana state law that says your vehicle is a extension of your home.

I left out that the statute also does not apply to:
"(5) Any constitutionally protected activity which cannot be regulated by the state, such as a firearm contained entirely within a motor vehicle."
Here is a better source, the state legislature site LEGIS.LA.gov

Malik Nabors for example was arrested for possessing an illegal firearm in New Orleans. I guarantee you he kept it in his vehicle.
His arrest was for illegal possession, not possession of an illegal firearm. He was arrested for concealed carry without a permit. Charges were dropped.

Clyde Edwards-Helaire shot & killed someone in self-defense because the guy he shite tried to rob him.
Self defense. Off campus. During winter break.
You're taking two completely different situations and trying to compare them to Lindsey's situation. This is on top of your original premise being flawed.
I personally hope the coaches are explaining to the players that they shouldn't allow people wanted for murder to crash at their places.

You're a complete dumbass for in anyway blaming Clyde.
Reading comprehension isn't your strong suit. He's not blaming Clyde. He's stating that he was obviously carrying a pistol around and likely had it on campus. I'd be pissed if Clyde had gotten in trouble with a pistol on campus in 2019.

I graduated from LA Tech in 2003 and we all had guns in our trucks all the time on campus. We were either coming back from hunting or going out hunting after class.

This is literally the most worn out, unintelligent, lazy thought by a segment of our society that still exists. Get off you sorry arse an earn what is available to you and stop making these type of excuses!

unfortunately if things go wrong for them, they fave consequences and those consequences may cost them their freedom and a potential NFL career.
Having a gun on campus isn't what's costing him his football career. That is just a convenient charge they can hit him with. I can assure you that a lot of players have guns and I can 100% guarantee you that LSU's campus is not gun free. Lindsey fricked up when he allowed people who were wanted for murder to stay in his apartment. End of story. None of the other players are being caught with guns in their apartment just like the plant baws aren't getting caught with guns in their cars because they are being responsible gun owners and no one knows they're there. This entire thing is about hiding murder suspects. It's not about the guns

These kids need to be reminded that if they even want a chance at having a career in the NFL, they need to make good decisions and not throw away opportunities that most people would love to have
The U.S. is a gun-free zone; LSU football players don't create the rules. You all voted for this, yet you want to limit certain people from exercising the same rights as you. Guns don't kill people, stupid people with guns kill people. A gun saved Clyde's life and Malik was in New Orleans, we know the trouble in that city.

Can they prove he knew they were murder suspects? Bc thats not something I’d be telling my dude trying to crash at his place

What?! Is that just a typo? What exactly are you claiming "You all voted for this"?

Exactly plant workers aren’t allowed to have them in their vehicles either.
Not entirely true... depends on the plant and whether the vehicle is parked inside or outside the gate.

I know someone who was fired from Exxon for having a gun in his vehicle in the parking lot.
I worked at Exxon and our plant allowed firearms to be kept in your vehicle in the parking lot.

Probably not which is the reason for the gun charge. They're probably trying to leverage him into talking. He probably had his own guns in his apartment and no one would have known or cared until those other guys moved in. It's all about hiding suspects

What gun charge? Has there been an update because that wasn't cause for the initial arrest
Posted on 8/13/25 at 9:18 am to sarussell01
Lindsey sounds like a complete idiot that doesn't belong on our team or our University. However, count me OUT on a deep dive investigation on who may have a gun in their apartment so we can get rid of them too.
