If he didn't want to work, couldn't he have taken the bag out of high school?

Mo Hampton was one of the better HS prospects I’ve watched in person. Played him a few times as well, he was a monster.

When people say stuff like this it make no sense sometimes.
Most people don’t realize that probably 70% of this roster was either signed by, or committed to, the previous staff. Granted Johnson has made some great portal additions and had to see many others through their signing period and the draft, but the issue with the previous staff was much more about roster management and development once they arrived.

I think 70% is a high number. Over half of the starts are JJ additions.

his lack of athleticism is the reason he has to work so hard to make routine plays look great

I didn’t say this because he made great plays. I said this because while at LSU he played almost every position on the field and was at least above average at all of them. He was also a really good baserunner. There were two separate really good coaches at LSU that trusted him to run bases and play defense more than anyone with a career sub .200 batting average should be.

Yep. But bc we had 2 guys who were projected to be high draft picks, one of them had no position (Berry), you had posters saying we were loaded despite the obvious lack of pitching and other deficiencies. Hell I think some of those posters said he’d never a better lineup than the one he had last year bc you had Crews and Berry.

Not surprised. Have to wonder how many highly touted kids show up to a college campus with that attitude after having been told for years they’re the next big star. Some just think it’ll be handed to them I would imagine and then bounce when they realize college ball is about so much more than projection of tools

They left the year before but we can certainly monitor.

Tom Biggs is hitting cleanup at Stephen F Austin and playing 2B, too.

Looks like Toups hit a HR this weekend vs Lindenwood

Crazy to think he's still there, was so talented out of high school but has been pretty disappointing in college even at ULL

I had really high hopes for him.

Never good when you have a major injury before you set foot on campus.

I must be missing something. JJ additions in starting lineup this weekend:

Friday: Skenes, Neal, White, Nippolt, Kling, Jones (6/10)
Saturday: Cooper, Neal, Jones, Kling, Nippolt (5/10)
Sunday: Shores, Neal, Jones, Nippolt, Kling (5/10)

NVM, I see you're counting Kling, Jones, and Neal as having been recruited by the previous staff, which is true, but getting those guys to campus was a BIG deal. This staff deserves quite a bit of credit for that. I'm not sure we get Neal, Kling, Jones, and Shores to campus under the previous staff.

Yeah I dont thin kthis is right for Sat/Sun. I see how you got to Friday if you add Jobert to the guy's list above.

But we had Thompson, Dugas, Morgan and Crews start Sat/Sun so how could it be 8/10 if those are 4 guys right there? Only argument for Sat/Sun is 6/10 max.

Mot “the issue with the previous staff was much more about roster management and development once they arrived” ??? Maybe management but I don’t recall Paul or his staff developing many players. The last games Paul coached his players in obvious sac bunk situations failed because they always bunted last second like they were going for a hit and couldn’t lay it down. Some development . All those players that transferred certainly didn’t develop.
