I don't see either getting cut, but I don't see either being a shoo in for a starting position next year. They really need to step it up which I believe is possible considering their competitive nature and passion shown before.

"So, Bryce Adams. You're our biggest and strongest player, but I don't like you. Thanks for wasting a year at LSU, now please transfer".

Neither is getting cut. They are program/locker room guys. Cliche I know. But they also will help us in certain roles. I think someone else put it pretty well. We've seen their ceiling. We know what we'll get. But hell anyone that'll go to the plate and take a ball off the flesh for you is good to have

Love the Jordan's-- but the pressure to produce at this level is tremendous-- some kids can but many can't. This will reveal itself as more talent arrives this fall. We shall see.

i agree thats when he seemed to have hit his 1st mental hurdle. Believe he has tools to overcome it. His early season success probably played into this as well. But the question of being cut this fall for a player who the coach's believed in enough to be a season starter all year seemed more instigating than rational. And not related as you may may think.

Can't do much about their arm strength. Can't do much about their speed. What you can improve is their pitch recognition. I don't mind being aggressive at the plate but if you're chasing breaking balls out of the zone early in the count, you're being a bit too aggressive. They need to learn that you don't need to swing at every ball that looks like it's going over the plate. They give you 3 strikes for a reason.

Which is one reason they were so successful early in the season. They were seeing more fastballs then, but teams soon figured them out and started feeding them healthy doses of offspeed

The Jordan brothers have reached their ceiling and are not cut out as SEC caliber starters IM

This can't be said enough. Bryce Jordan was 1st team All sec. 1st team in far and away the best conference in college.

He was second on our team in OBP and led the team 90% of the season. A team that was a top national seed with no easy out 1-9.

Meaning he got on base more than anyone on the team. Does that not register in your head? And he still finished 2nd despite the terrible slump to end the year.

Kid has earned a spot until he proves he doesn't belong. He had a damn strong year for a sophomore

So how does this work, exactly? Can PM "pull" a kids partial athletic scholarship?

If a kid does not make the 35 man final roster, what happens to his scholarship?

Does baseball have the same rules about sitting out a year that football has, unless you move down a division?

Can a coach block a transfer to a particular school?

Especially for a guy that got very little play as a Freshman.

Scholarships are renewed each year, and the percentage is evaluated each year.

It goes to someone else.

Players that transfer to other D1 schools have to sit out a year unless there are extenuating circumstances.

Yes.

We have got to get Duplantis out of right no matter what.

Duplantis is probably the leading candidate to take over CF at this point. His lack of arm strength is obvious, but he reads the ball well off the bat and covers a ton of ground.

I honestly don't get how people are surprised at the lack of arm strength in the OF. CPM has obviously made the decision that speed trumps arm strength when it comes to defense. Hell, he played Laird, who had one of the weakest arms I've ever seen, in right for 3 years. I wouldn't expect anything different next year.

Don't act like he's blowing the rest of the team away when it comes to OBP. Freeman leads the team at .427 followed by Bryce at .419. Two others are right behind him at .417
I get what you're saying, but his OBP is skewed by HBP. You can't make a living continually getting HBP. He has 23 HBP while the next highest on the team had 14 (Kramer). If you take away the 9 HBP difference between Bryce and Kramer his OBP drops from .419 to .390 which would be 6th among starters.
