Syracuse is better than an FCS team or a weak instate opponent like ULL or Tulane that would be a given blow out

Playing a high school team at home is better than playing freaking Syracuse on the road.

I would assume we would play Syracuse and a neutral site games both years?

I wouldn't mind it. It would make for a strong OOC schedule and expand our brand

With regards to Cuse fans having culture shock coming down here to play: consider that LSU fans complain now bout $8 beer. Wait till they see the price of everything up there. And wait for those Russian cab drivers to get a cab full of drunk Tiger fans. Personally, I like it as long as it stays home & home. I'm stil waiting for the OU home and home series to actually happen.

Forgot about the price differences from NY to LA, but you're right its pretty expensive up there. However, one good piece of news: Carrier dome sells beer for games.

I agree with you there, but it's not a team that is worthy of a home and home with LSU.

anyone in a (BCS) conference is worth a home and home...

Kansas, Indiana, Washington State
IMO no LSU fan wants to play schools like these in home and home. Going to Pullman Washington to play Wash. State. No thanks.

Probably safe to add Syracuse to that list as well.

I'd be more supportive if a basketball home/home were thrown in as part of the deal. They get a premier football program in the Carrier Dome, and we get a premier basketball program in the PMAC.

Just a thought.

Even if we play Syrcause at home in basketball only 7,000 fans would show up.

I disagree.

Those schools are in Kansas, Indiana and Washington - hardly the football rich states we might benefit from raising our Q rating within. Conversely, Syracuse is in New York and will generate a lot of media attention and will put LSU into the realm of the noticeable to many recruits and media members who might otherwise not pay much attention.

Correction it is in upstate New York....4 hrs from NYC....I've not seen a lot of media coverage around Syracuse football lately.....maybe you watch something different. If this were in the Meadowlands then I could maybe see it if we got the neutral site type payout.

So NY media is nation wide....when it comes to college football they know who LSU is without us going to them. As far as recruits I'm sure you know of the last one from NY....I can't think of the last one though (although I do remember a def player from NJ I think can't remember his name though).

Bottom line....I'm not, and probably won't be, convinced that playing in the Carrier Dome is worth losing a home game and all the money that entails for.

Depends on how our season is going, but if we can get 7,000 in the PMAC for Kentucky, during an ice storm, I'd like to think we could have a good crowd for Syracuse.

It's a massive college and beautiful campus. Sometimes they're good at the football.

Traveling to duke is at least accessible and in civilization. Pullman is in middle of no where Washington. If we play Wash State put it at Quest Field in Seattle.

Where is the nearest major airport near Syracuse? Its 4 hrs from NYC, and the only other towns nearby are Rochester and Buffalo.
