Brady installed a large portion of the offense, but he has absolutely no experience coordinating. Learning from Ensminger has been vital to his development.

Honestly, it was a perfect situation for Brady. A lot more goes into being a major coordinator than just calling plays.

Yep. For all the people saying just make him OC over E. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. They obviously work well together and I'm sure Brady is learning a lot from E too.

Just make him the OC. I don't get what Steve E brings to the table other than mentoring at this point.

Because I’m assuming Brady wouldn’t be getting paid almost $2million to continue to be the passing game coordinator...

Probably not. He'll be getting a promotion to OC.

It’s basically saying (in the middle of our best season) “hey SE, we’re replacing you even though this is our best season in a decade”

And who's the main variable between last season's offense and this season's offense? Hint, his name rhymes with Moe Crady.

quote:

Last report we heard anyway about play calling was that SE did most of it and let Brady calls some plays here and there...

I think Brady is the future, but it’s a big F U to SE to do the deal now

Well, regardless of what rumors we've heard, the checkbook is dictating who's most important in the offensive coaching equation, and it's Brady.

Any other school and E would've been sent packing for that abortion that was last year's offense. But the HC is loyal, that's why E is here, not because of performance.

This is business and it's reality. They have to lock Brady down because suitors are lining up. They'll still be lining up even after he gets this deal.

Brooks from TheAdvocate had a piece on the negotiations 2 days ago, so did Yahoo and Sat Down South.

Has LSU released it? No.

Does that mean there is no agreement? No.

LSU knows the value of Brady. College Football knows. And after Sat Darth Saban knows.

Truth is LSU reached out to him weeks ago. The $$ is gonna be comparable to what the average OC in the NFL makes and well above average for P5 OC’s.

I know some want Woodward or O to come to their house and whisper it to them. But while anything can happen (and anything could happen even if it was “reported” on dying mediums like newspapers btw) it’s happening.

Enjoy Veteran’s Day.

Oh and check the recruiting board.

Good news on Webb and Evans and no its not reported either.

Geaux Tigers

I knew about the negotiations, and I'm not saying it isn't happening, but if we're basing this off message board insiders, color me skeptical until I see something official.

LSU may not make a statement releasing it till the board agrees to it, they wont meet for a while, think the adovcate said December 6th is when they meet next.

The contract itself is done between Brady/Woodward, Woodward now has to get the board to sign off on it.

Again,

I think Brady is a big reason our offense is smashing. I think by all accounts he should be the OC next year.

But still, no reason to make waves in the middle of this amazing season. We still have a job to do. It’s just really ignorant of our season long goal to upset the apple cart at this point in the season. Why even tempt turmoil?

Just tell Brady behind closed doors that the gig is his next years. Wait until the end of the year, thank SE and announce the deal.

I expect that’s why the deal hasn’t been announced yet. Smarter heads prevailed. SE probably is happy to step aside, but to do it in the middle of this great run is lacking awareness at best

Lol nothing is official until the Board approves.

You of course can believe what you wish. But LSU isn’t stupid. They would not have leaked the negotiations if they were not sold he way staying. No point in it.

The other thing is media sources are often given info and told not to release until they release it.

Seriously think for a moment. Every board has had this for hours. Media reads the board.

You think it’s possible they haven’t checked into it?

Just let it slide?

So if you accept they read boards and checked up on it 1 possible on record answer “no comment”

Off the record a couple “yes we have a deal it will be announced shortly”

“Close but not yet”

“Not yet”

Don’t you think the silence says something?

Again believe what you want but...Geaux Joe!

I don't think LSU is intentionally leaking out this information.

It's tough to keep this type of news under wraps and LSU's AD historically hasn't been very good at it anyway.

Steve ensminger is Not going anywhere. He will still be on staff in some capacity. The whole plan was to develop Joe Brady into offensive coordinator role and could ask Steve any questions he had. To be honest I think it has been the other way around. Steve has been asking Joe Brady what should we do. Joe Brady is the brains behind the offense. Lock him up on a deal, I'm positive SE will still be on staff
