Nice win. It would have been better with a better PMAC atmosphere, but that has to be earned back first. This win will help.

I was watching it on TV, but it looked like a great atmosphere. It was the much better than I expected. Was the TV giving us a false sense of the atmosphere?

Yall can thank me. I turned tv on at end of the first half with LSU up 26-24 only to watch Kentucky's run to close it out. I didn't watch the second half.

That was the fastest I have seen Baker run all season after that shot.

I'd give it a solid 8.5 out of ten. Crowd was quiet at points but we came alive at the end. Best crowd since tPear (except maybe Arkansas last year)

Then you weren't there for the LSU SC WBB game. That was a wall of sound almost the entire time.

Pretty much. There were at least 3000 empty seats. The game got louder as it got to the end of the game. The run to take the lead from the 15 deficit got pretty loud - like feeding frenzy loud.

Was comparing it on the men's scale.

I have tickets to both men’s and women’s games. The Women’s fan base was rebuilt last year with the run to the championship. It also helps that Kim is from nearby and has a lot of built in support in family so she got a step up to start.

The men’s program is a different beast. Our men’s fans are more fickle. We had a terrible season lasr year and many people tuned out and dropped out. The first half of this season didn’t give people much to hang onto either. But this team is getting better as the season goes on. I think they turned a corner this week. I only hope they don’t do the typical LSU basketball thing and have a full house on Saturday because of the last two games and then lay an egg against State. The fans who were there last night were loud when the team needed the energy. I can’t wait until the PMAC is fully awake again.

State's a good team, and I'm pretty sure they'll be favored in the game. An LSU loss would be more or less the "default" setting Saturday night

this game against MSU will be another good test for this team. I feel like the emotion of the last two could cause this team to be flat on Saturday, especially since MSU does not come with the hype that the others did but could be every bit as good if not better. I think the level of effort to win will need to be even higher for this game. Crowd will need to bring it too!

Expected.

State is the opposite of South Carolina in terms of oddsmaking. SC has a great record and some good wins, but the predictive data suggests they are as good as the record suggest. State, on the other hand, has a worse record, yet the predictive data suggest they are better than what their record says.

The bottom line is that State rebounds well and plays great defense. But they also haven't beaten anyone worth a shite on the road. Literally one true road win...over Missouri. Are they a bad matchup for LSU? Maybe. But while LSU is really great at nothing, they've generally found a way to be good enough during the game to be competitive. If they are shite on offense at some point in the game, don't worry, they'll get better. If they are shite on defense during the game, don't worry, they'll find a way to get a few stops at some point. Of course, it would be nice if they didn't have to crap all over themselves to figure how to fix it.

Possible good scenario:

LSU is playing with the most confidence they've had all season. The crowd is finally behind them and they knock more than usual shots from 3 to mitigate State's defense and rebounding prowess. The home atmosphere provides the emotional juice they left on the floor vs. Kentucky

Possible bad scenario:

It's tough to bounce back emotionally from Wednesday and LSU struggles with a target on their back for the first time this season. The game turns into the A&M (home) game. A frustrating slog where neither team is good offensively, but State dominates the glass to find enough second chance points to win.
