IMO, after watching the CWS, other than SS, we had no infield. First, Second, and Thord base was sorely lacking. I have been watching great plants at these positions. Hopefully Johnson can fix.

Wait till you see Jays portal hauls so far. Let’s just hope they end up being better than this seasons portal haul.

Well we had the first basemen on the roster, kept the SS, recruited two of the better 2B and 3B, and are bringing along our own young 2B and 3B.

I'd say it's "fixed"

You had to wait and watch the CWS to realize how bad our infield was overall besides Milam?

We had a perfectly good true freshman first baseman for most of the last half of the season and an at least adequate true freshman second baseman for about the last quarter of the season.

Were you one of those guys suggesting Jones needed to be replaced at first after the 2024 season?

Braun?

Hit like .355 in SEC.

We had SS and 1B (last 1/3 of season). Catcher was suspect. Only reason they are even getting a pass is because each C had a very good bat. 2nd and 3rd are being upgraded through the portal as seen in the last week.

Braun was very good at first.
I wish he’d have gotten some play earlier in the year, but he’ll be solid next year.

Milam is back
At SS.

Ruckert was good at the end of the year. And with the transfers he may not even be on the field in 2026.
The infield should be good next year

Ruckert struggled at the beginning of the year but he found his glove later in the season. He had errors that cost us a couple early games but he was a freshman and made freshman mistakes. He will be much better next year.

Once Braun was penciled in every day, first base became very good. As for catchers, both Cade and Omar were good...yes, there were some missed balls but how often was that on the pitcher and not the catcher? Still counts on the catcher but the pitcher may have crossed them up.

Is Milam going to play SS or 2B next season? One of the best defensive SSs in LSU history, but they say 2B is his position at next level
