So what. It’s functional. Bullpens aren’t meant to be showpieces for God’s sake.

We know.nobody is saying that they won’t be functional. We are just saying it looks bad. If you don’t care what it looks like, then just ignore this thread and move on. Some people on here would like to have a stadium that looks good and is up to par with other premier stadiums in the SEC

I get the stadium comments, but I'm a lot more worried about what's on the field than the stadium.....

that is terrible and looks like no one would want to warmup on the left side

No way in hell Rizzy and Shores can even pitch on that side. Absolutely ridiculous.

Looks like they took out some seats where the home plates are
If you are talking about the right field bleachers, I don't think that the seating arrangement has been altered in any way. I have been out there over a dozen times while construction was taking place from unscheduled stops to drop in on campus, fall scrimmages and now spring practices and the bleacher seats were not altered in any way that I could tell.

Nah you’ll just have a guy posting who is throwing on here as he is standing 5 feet away staring at him through the fence. Hell you might get a “I’m right outside the bullpen and Guidry’s offspeed looks great. 1-2-3 inning coming up here” in game 1
Great I'll have to start bringing my phone to games now to read some rantards posts instead of observing the pitchers warming up directly in front of my seats and forming my own observations. FML

I mean yeah obviously the product on the field is what’s most important, but we can still comment and have opinions on all of the other stuff

LSU should raise money and start over with the whole out field experience. these new bullpens are sub standard. I get fans want more upgrades down the lines for better seating. I believe phase 1 of renovation should be a complete demo and rebuild of the outfield experience.

The players love it and the opposing team can't see who LSU is warming up on the pen, just like Jay Johnson requested.
The pictures that have been posted show chain link areas in the outfield wall allowing the bullpen to be visible from the field, which seems to be required by the rules.

quote:

SECTION 13. The area in foul or dead-ball territory, generally between the dugout and outfield fence, where substitute pitchers, catchers and other players warm up. It must contain two regulation pitching rubbers and home plates and should have seating for four to six players. Facilities should be comparable for both home and visiting teams. Pitchers should be warmed up in the designated bullpen area, not in another facility or location out of sight and sound of the playing field.

Guys have been warming up and doing their pre-pitch workout routine in the indoor facility for some time now and I expect that to continue now that the bullpen is only steps away from the indoor training center.

They should have did the visitor’s bullpen like that and let fans taunt them behind the fence. Of course, they’ll do that in the outfield. LSU’s bullpen is awful.

please tell me it's just the camera angle/lens that makes the painted home plate on the left look rather thin and enlongated.
Who knows . I cant imagine a worse looking area, so may as well etch a sketch the layout.

There are other barriers aside from chain link that couldve been utilized. Maybe this hodge podge crap iis a sign they arent sinking any money in a real renovation and plan on a major reno, or a new park sooner rather than later.

This is Alex Box. Hodgepodge is the standard way of doing things.
