This popped up as a suggested link in Google news. Texas fans are sad because they don’t get the opportunity to “curb stomp” us as repayment for last year’s loss. LSU got lucky

Everyone who played us before Ole Miss should be happy they played us before the defense woke up.

Just take the moral victory and go home.

It just popped up on mine too.

You laugh at how delusional LSU fans can get, then Longhorn fans pop up and remind you how worse it could get

Even with our depleted roster, I highly doubt there would be any "curb stomping". UT, as always, is overrated and Herman has plenty of issues with that program as well.

The thing is, most of Texas is ugly and/boring. By far the most overrated state in the USA.

Nobody is scared of Texas. Their last revenge game after an out of conference home loss was at Maryland, and they lost.

East Texas is basically the same as Louisiana as far as landscape (yes they have swamps) and the rest is far more beautiful than anything Louisiana has to offer.

If they were so close to us and we caught them at a weak point then why did we elevate throughout the year and why didn’t they go undefeated for the rest of the year?

LSU hasn’t lost 5 games with freshman QBs and an average young roster much less experienced QBs with an experienced roster. Yea we lost some key contribution but we also did throughout the year and we still didn’t lose a game without those players. No they weren’t all at once but they also only had a week to prepare for the lose of those players. We’ve had an entire offseason to get ready to replace these guys and LSU is plum full of talent. Our DB room is still very talented as well.

Harris will be back, Stingley, Ward, Flott and all the new guys we signed. We added depth to the defensive front. The only thing we will he missing is a pass rusher but with the style of defense we will have, it can come from the inside or outside. Those linebackers will be lethal in this defense as well. We have some very versatile players to work with in Cox and Stevens.

I don’t think these guys realize just how full the roster is and the type of offense we still run. This option route concept is very difficult for a defense to cover with average talent. You add these type of WRs, a QB who works his butt off to read it and react quickly to it and you have a difficult offense to handle. You add the TEs we have and the running game we about to unleash and it’s that much better. Our OL will not take much of a hit. RBs will be better, QB may take a slight hit but Brennan is for real, our TEs are talented and our WR group remains elite. Just like every year, we will fill those spots up. It’s their loss really.

I think this team is still headed for success. If anything hurts them, it will be the mental aspect of these losses, especially Chase. Hopefully there is a player who steps up to prove himself in his spot and verbally tells the team that they haven’t missed a beat even with the losses. Hopefully many more step up and echo this at every position group. When you lose, you also gain.

Was LSU the only team that beat them last year????

Seems like our "luck" broke them. They were so weak minded that they gave up after one loss.

Texas is the real Moral Victory U. They’ve been Oklahoma’s bitch for the better part of the last 15 years and they act like they’re hot shite. They’re like A&M fans except their team has actually won a National Title before.

Some things will never change. I lived with their crap for 25 years, so put had to put up with it every single day. Their delusional, obnoxious fans are the worst.

Well. Texas went on to lose 4 more games. LSU went on to lose 0 more games.

Nothing to see here.

The offense wasn’t even fully developed for that game much less the defense. Lanard was still getting touches and it was before the offense went almost strictly with the Fab 5 weapons int Clyde, Jefferson, Chase, Marshall, and Moss. When they did that the offense took another step and they could do anything they wanted in the playbook with those 5 and stay no huddle hurry up.

Most of their fans don't even think that LSU could put a team on the field that would stay within 20 points.

They don't understand the importance of maintaining recruiting.
