He must have had a huge change of heart, because it never made sense for someone of his talent to have signed with a community college unless he really wanted nothing to do with having to commit to 3 years of college.

Anyone know anything about him? Offensively? Defensively? Years of eligibility left? Years until draft eligible? Was he drafted out of HS? Drafted this year out of CC?

If you’re Johnson why not just find the best players and let them battle for a spot on the roster.

I think he is even better than what all the ratings say. He's a really athletic catcher, with pop and a strong arm.
Having Johnson to coach up his overall hit tool, I believe will turn this kid into an All-American. Perhaps not in year one, but he immediately upgrades the depth at the position significantly, in my opinion. And who knows, maybe he does bust out as a freshman.

High school senior. Will be here for 3 years. Big, raw power. Solid defensively, good arm. Athletic and fast enough to run the bases well, and even play OF. He'll be in the running for immediate playing time.
