Oh, we will hit them tonight. I just hope they are not a lot of towering pop ups.

If their pitchers can throw strikes, it will be a battle. I don't care if they throw a 75 mph fastball, we will struggle if any of their pitchers throws strikes.

Our pitchers are just not mentally aware or coached into throwing strikes. They think throwing a 99 mph in the dirt or extremely high is more important than throwing strikes.

That is how they were coached from little league until the majors. It is all about impressing the scouts, not throwing strikes.

Those two rally killers being Jones and Braswell. I'd say take a chance on Reaves at 3rd and bench Braswell and move Jones to 6 or 7.

Let’s see if Jay has the brains to do this because both of these things need to happen if LSU is going to move on and be successful.

LSU should win. They should’nt lose at all to LR. Baseball is weird sometimes though

they aren’t down to their 8th or 9th pitcher

they are circling back through their pitchers.

Them throwing junk ball pitchers is actually worse for us.

This. We can actually hit better against good pitching. It’s the nobodies from piss ant little teams like Little Rock who pitch the games of their lives against us repeatedly.

this team can score 15, or 1. its one of the more perplexing delimnas i've seen watching lsu baseball for over 30 years. not 2-3 guys go cold, the entire lineup....but curiel finding his stride again, along with milam, and hernandez if he stays hot, hopefully brown and frey get it going too.

jones, other than moving him back to like 5 or 6, you keep him in there because he can easily change the game in a heartbeat. he's struggling mightily, and although we didn't "need" jordan thompson last year, look what sticking with him did. hopefully jones banged some roughians last night, went on a bender, has his mind all clogged up so when he steps in he's not thinking about anything.

idk why its perplexing that is a really common thing in baseball.

You get a pitcher on a good day and you are gonna struggle

you get a pitcher on a bad day and you can hit 17

they will throw till their arms fall off. Basically old school LSU pitching back in the day.

Jay should employ this strategy just for today and pitch Eyanson. Eyanson pitches for precision, not power and should be able to extend beyond one game.

pretty lousy team all year

They've played solid baseball recently -- last weekend by winning five games to win the Ohio Valley and this weekend where they've hit the cover off of the ball three straight games. All the momentum is with this club.

I know all the concern at the start of this regional was with Dallas Baptist. But no one gave a nickel over UALR's chances.

Jay Johnson is not starting 96 mph throwing Anthony Eyanson. Stop.

They could pitch Jacob DeGrom or some coonass tailgating in the parking lot and the results would be the same

I love how this fanbase has magically forgotten that Games 1 and 2 happened. We had no issues with 2 of LR’s 3 best pitchers and then abused 2 of DBU’s top guys and basically ended their season right then.

I would be worried as hell if this was away from the Box, but this team rarely has two bad ones in a row at home and really hasn’t all season. Last night left a bad taste for everyone, but let’s see how they show up tonight before we all pre-melt like 13 yo girls.

LR probably is one of the all time worst teams to be in the tournament, LSU should never lose to a team that bad.
Blame it on the HC and Assistants for not having the team prepared in all phases of the game.

This is unacceptable at College Baseball Powerhouse LSU.

If Orgeron, I mean Johnson, and his Staff can't prepare the team well enough to escape a Regional then the College Baseball Powerhouse needs to find somebody that CAN.

Shite or get off the fricking Pot!

its happened often all year long. not a single game. i've watched lsu baseball since the late 80's, and it just seems this team goes cold as hell, as a team, far too often. not a guy shutting them down on a given night, just bad hitting\slumps\cold for multiple periods of the season this year. luckily curiel and milam have found their stride again, we need more than though.

Yep, it’s who this team is. They hit poorly.

the fact that they were a pretty lousy team all year (losing record against mediocre competition), wouldn't that mean that their available pitchers are equivalent to decent but not great high school talent? And that being the case, shouldn't we hit the shite out of them tonight?

Every team player, coach, and fan should know, by now, that opposing teams that play LSU in baseball are highly motivated. At home it is even more so. The large crowds, the Intimidator, and even the TV cameras. It's their time to shine. If LR season ends tonight, last night was their season highlight.

CJJ is very analytical, but his players need to play fundamentally good baseball. Leave the odds makers in Vegas. Life someone already pointed out, we've won it on paper. Let's see it on the field.

we have 10 or more hits in every game this regional. last night was the first time that didn’t really translate to runs.

Little Rock pitching

I don’t know about pitching but a big thing I noticed about their hitters last night is that they don’t have many whiffed strikes. Shitloads of foul balls which drive up pitch counts. LR’s hitters “whif” on very few pitches. They “stay alive” by fouling off pitches until they either see a pitch they can drive or they draw a base on balls. Just an observation and something that stuck out noticeably.
