Let’s give Benford, his staff and the team our support here

He didn’t ask to be put in this position and probably wishes like we do that Wade was still in charge. He’s obviously a valuable assistant coach but not cut out for the head job. It’s not like he’s similar to Coach O and is going to use this situation to promote himself for the head coaching position if Wade doesn’t return.
Hopefully he and his staff can put all their resources together and make a bit of a run in the tournament.
Let’s at least give our full support to him and the team during this challenging time.

I support them, but it's time for the administration to get their heads out of their asses and either double down and fire Wade or admit they were wrong reinstate him.

Nah we getting robbed right now. I’m not standing for it. I will support the team but my only focus is getting Will Wade back because we are nothing without him.

Benford is a great dude and a class act. He’s got my full support and I hope the rest of the fan base.
Do I want Wade back? Hell yeah he’s the man. But I still support Benford in the interim.

Every LSU basketball team has had my full support, including the ones that only won a few SEC games. I really don't think that means a whole lot to the players or coach. We just heard Walter's dad say that Tremont wasn't there because of anything LSU related, only the coach Will Wade. That is the way the modern game is. Players are more loyal to the coach than the institution.
So the team didn't lose the game today because they didn't have enough support from me. They lost for the same reasons they have played Florida close in the two previous games. They get a double digit lead, make a few spectacular offense plays and then relax and quit hustling and playing defense. It was up to Coach Wade and now Coach Benford to correct this.
Coach Benford did not have this team ready to hustle on defense. The players were sluggish, sloppy and careless. This has nothing to do with my support or lack thereof. It has to do with coaching decisions and the actions and decisions of the players on the court.
And if you really feel that Coach Beford wouldn't love to be the LSU head coach next year . . . just a little out of touch with reality there. Head coach makes a whole lot more than an assistant, has more prestige, etc. I think he would have a whole lot of trouble accepting your premise that he is just an assistant coach and not cut out for the head coach job.

Oh yeah... Geaux Benford! The team goes without saying.
I know Benford doesn't have much of a pedigree, with a dismal record as a HC. But shoot, I'd rather have an interim with some real experience than just promoting a lifetime asst. As we are all too familiar with, past HC records can be misleading if it was at inferior programs.

I support him as interim. In no way would I ever support him being given the HC job if WW is let go.

I would have supported Benford putting his foot up that ref's a$$ who called a technical on him after already giving UF a free, undeserved 3 points.

You want a fiery head coach who can fire his players up but a technical at that point in the game was just not the right thing to do and was a sign of a coach out of control. His assistants would have helped hold him back if he was near the bench but he was already out of the coaching box and on the court. I will not support Benford as the next coach. One more hire of an interim coach with a bad past record as a head coach and I am out of here.
