Losing two experienced starters to season ending injuries and personal issues thr psdt two seasons has something to do with this, especially this year losing Dedon Thomas. While Jalen Reece has played well and has an excellent assist to turnover ratio his lack of experience has hampered the offense from staying in efficient flow and that has caused late in the clock turnovers and shots from bad angles. Thats why Tamba ended up with the ball so often in the waning seconds of the shot clock. Thomas is more of a scoring threat than Reese which forced defenses to play him honestly. Reece's confidence grew during the last month and he will be an outstanding player in the future.

I mean if Little Rock baseball can randomly get hot to win their conference tournament in baseball, LSU can do it in basketball.

I'm assuming Madking took this obvious joke hyper literally because he doesn't have a clever bone in his body, hence the 1 downvote.

Don’t forget a bottom dweller Oklahoma team either coming in and kicking our arse.

Yeah, Oklahoma is better than their record, they underachieved a bit early and also had some hard luck losses.

Georgia was another mediocre team that came in here and embarrassed us.

Basketball is such a game of constant adjustments.

You hit the nail on the head, it’s constant and the adjustments can be small. His second year, I don’t remember the game, it was one of Cooks first SEC games where we kept running the high ball screen in the middle too low. The drop man would just sit at the FT line and the PNR action was happening right into that defender. Instead of moving it back 3-5 feet and creating enough space for Cook to have room we just kept running it right into where the opponent wanted us too. It’s mind blowing how easy some of this stuff can be corrected but it’s in game like you said so the coach has to do it.

OU isn't really that good. It's just that the second half of the SEC schedule was much more favorable than the first half. Good teams were blowing them out in January. In February they were able to eek out a great win at Vandy, then had the benefit of playing some very average teams at home coupled with a road game against the worst team in the SEC.

It will be curious to see if the admin will be blinded by the finish to this season. Moser hasn't been good there. At least McMahon made the admin's job easy by proving he can't routinely beat any power conf. opponent, regardless of quality.

Damn Tigersbb your right Im shocked. I just looked it up and cant believe what I found. LSU was the only team in the country who suffered injuries this season. Every other team in the country was injury free. Amazing. Surely Mcloser deserves another 3 years. Who knows in 3 years he might win 9 SEC games. I know you would dance in the streets if he could go 9-45!

McClown can't make in game adjustments, terrible at evaluating talent, doesn't know how to teach defense or rebounding, and he has the passion of a dead fish! Well now we know why the men's basketball team has finished in last place or close to last place 3 out of the 4 years he has been here. However he just doesn't have any answers as to why the team is playing so bad and can't win any games, well I just gave him the reasons why he sucks as a college basketball coach and what his teams should have been working on along with shooting the ball! Please Verge on Wednesday at about 2:30 to 3pm tell McClown to leave and DON'T COME BACK!!!

This happened in MULTIPLE games. The same exact situation. As a former shitty pg it drove me insane. How could I see this but not a ncaa coach

Well Georgia won that infamous Tornado Tourney back in 2008. They were a last place team that year and yet they won the SEC, and actually won two games in one day! They entered the NCAA as a #14 seed and lost to #3 Xavier. And they fired their coach the following season

I didn't say they were great, just that they are better than their record and IMHO better than State, South Carolina and Georgia - which I agree ain't saying that much but nevertheless is true.
