Orgeron was let go because of his bad assistant hires after winning a chip if BK gets these hires wrong he has to be gone within 3 years.

Orgeron was let go because he had two losing seasons, missed a bowl game for the first time in 20 years and had a toxic culture.

but you knew that

Wrong.

Orgeron decimated the program and his off field antics didn’t help, either.

Yeah...those issues with BLM, random women, fighting on the beach, and being a complete dip shite had nothing to do with him getting fired. It was all the assistant coaching hires...

O was let go because he was more interested in recruiting p*ssy than recruiting lineman...

It’s amazing how fricking brain-dead the O nutlickers are.

O went 11-12 after making bad hires on BOTH sides of the ball. It was the worst stretch at LSU in over 20 years.

Kelly has gone 20-7 in two years and nailed one side of the ball so well we had the best offense in the FBS. Those two W/L records are not remotely close. Now frick off.

I love it when the Orgeron apologists come on here and attempt to justify his devastation of the program after 2019.

You idiots come up with the dumbest takes. I am no Orgeron fan, but he did also hire Joe Brady and brought in Joe Burrow, and the most amazing season in college football history. I have lost a few IQ points reading your post.

You forgot his terrible roster management. But losing more than he won in his last two seasons is what truly got him fired.

Exactly. And it wasn't so much because he just got unlucky with coordinator hires. It's that winning the NC made him think he was a better coach than he actually is...and has ever been. 2019 happened because O had good coordinators and stayed COMPLETELY out of their way. After winning the title he was ok with Aranda leaving because he didn't like Aranda's approach. O wanted to run his early 90's Miami/early 00's USC fan-fiction defensive approach. One that he had only a basic understanding of how it was run, and ZERO understanding that it probably wouldn't be successful with LSU's current personnel against 2020's offenses.

As for Kelly, there will be $70M reasons why he won't be gone after next season...even if he has a bad season. Fans wanted a "big fish". They got it. And LSU paid for it. So they are stuck with the mortgage for at least 5 years, probably more.

Bo was really the worst hire that Coach O made. Most others were very good at their jobs. So good that we may be bringing one or some back. I would not be upset to see Deronte Jones and his whiskey come back to coach safeties with Raymond.

And, Blake Baker turned Demone Clark into a heat seeking missile.

The last victim of bad assistants was Gerry Dinardo.

O was fired for losing for two consecutive years. A lot of mistakes were made resulting in those two piss-poor years.

First step: Fortunately we are at least winning again and back to being a Top15 program.

Next step: compete for championships.

LSU is clearly on the right track again under Kelly.
